How Many Was That Exactly?

Our sweet friends came to visit for a few days…
{they are pastors and moving to the
Chicago area}..
They love the orphan, love large families,
love Uganda and love God…
{not in that order}
And between us we have quite a few treasures
So let’s see…
There’s
{our}
Elizabeth Mercy
and {their}
  Hope Jubilee

Laughter abounds…

{their}
Anna Noel

who happens to be able to do a nice back flip…

and
{our}
Nehemiah Judson

and
{their}
Levi Ryan
{our}
Isaiah Samuel

{our}
Elijah Mueller

 {their}
Caleb August

Ruby Grace
wants to know…
“How many kids is that anyway???”
Did we miss anyone?
 “Oh wait!
Someone short like me.”
said Ruby.

{their}
 Isaiah James

and then there’s

 {their}
Elijah Thomas

and
{our}
Jubilee Promise
and
{our}
 Liberty Anna
{their}
Louis Isaac
and
{our}
Graham Josiah

and
{our}
Savannah Grace

So how many treasures exactly does that make?
SIXTEEN
and that means a lot of food
a lot of fun
a lot of swimming
a lot of trampoline jumping
 a lot of games
a lot of bodies sleeping all over the place
 a lot of giggles
a lot of ice cream
a lot of party
and a whole lot of memories

and we wouldn’t trade it all for anything…

Anybody out there want to join the commotion?

  1. OH…I'm so envious! I've been following your blog since Sara showed me. Please give all of your guests special hugs and kisses from us Okies. I miss them dearly but am planning my trip to IL to see them when they move. Loved seeing Hopie in the middle of the swim gang and Isaiah being loved on by someone else besides me…sniff, sniff. Absolutely two beautiful families.

  2. Oh what fun! Reminds me of growing up. I grew up with 12 siblings and we often hung out with other large families and had the best of times! People look at us now and think we're crazy to be adding baby number 5…and I happen to think it's only a medium…ish sized family! 🙂

  3. So much fun! We have several friends that have large families and one year as a new friend was looking at our Christmas Card Collection they noticed this and asked, "Do all of your friends have lots of kids?" I'm not sure if he was rethinking our friendship or what? 🙂
    Keep up the God work.

  4. how fun for you all! I'm sure the children had a blast. Love that little precious Ruby on the floor. Love her sweet little face. I'd just love to hug her! God bless and thanks for sharing!

  5. This made me laugh, because it reminded me of a dream I had probably last year sometime… that my husband and I stopped to visit you (not sure what house or where). But, there were so many people throughout the house that you never even noticed we were there! 😀

    1. Haha!! Reading your comment made me laugh. Truly, even though we had 16 kids in the house for 3 days, it never felt like more than our normal bunch. It was crazy. I asked Savannah and Dw and Graham and Liberty and they all agreed. Our house is nice, but not enormous, yet it was so comfortable and easy. I think the thing is, that after you are used to a bunch, a bunch more really is still just a bunch. We would have a blast, I'm certain, if your crew came for a visit!! xo
