When I began to blog six years ago,
never would I have guessed in a bazillion years that
one of the Lord’s purposes would be to allow my very lonely heart
to meet precious, kindred friends
from around the world!!
Oh how very good the Lord is!!
One sweet woman would comment regularly.
Her name was Renee.
Her encouraging words would always bless my soul.
Eventually we began to email.
One day there was a need and we spoke on the phone for a long while.
She and I shared similar pasts and were in similar situations.
Adoptive moms.
Large families.
Pastor’s wives.
Among other things.
Somewhere in there I began The Knee Team
[a group of people dedicated to praying for prayer
requests as they come in].
When I was leaving for Africa to bring home sweet
Ruby home I knew that I could not keep up
with The Knee Team and asked Renee if she would
take over while I was gone.
She did such an amazing job,
I never took it back!!
And so it was that Renee and her Joel
were coming to Phoenix to visit Renee’s sister and her husband –
we were giddy at the thought of finally getting to hug necks.
Last week they came for dinner.
What joy to finally spend time together – in the flesh!!
What a blessing to laugh,
talk and eventually pray together as couples.
I am so grateful for God’s beautiful plans
in bringing wonderful friends to walk life together
even if separated by many miles.
Oh yay!!!! Yay for both of you! That is so neat that you got to meet in person and pray together!
