Our Three Furry Girls…

I love when we see God care about the stuff that bothers us.  He cares about it all.  He hears.  And He provides.

image1When we began to talk about taking a giant road trip this summer, the kids and I immediately began to pray that God would provide someone to take care of our dogs.  After all, we have not one, not two, but three furry little girls.  We love these girls so much and the task seemed daunting.

They have taken gone on many road trips, but this one would require time in the southeast in the Summer.  We would have to find a hotel each time we stopped immediately so they would be safe.

I thought maybe someone would be needing a place to stay and in exchange for a place to stay they could care for the dogs.  Even though we looked, we could find no one.

The option of having someone just come in and feed, potty and water them twice a day was not really feasible.  The going rate in Phoenix is ridiculous and we also couldn’t imagine our furry little girls being home alone for six weeks.  They are totally used to rowdy, noisy fun every day. IMG_4570

I mentioned to Dw how I couldn’t imagine why the Lord hadn’t answered our earnest prayers that we had prayed for months!!  It was odd to me.  But whatever.  The girls would do great, we would just need to do a bit more planning each day.

The trip began.  And littlIMG_4571 (1)e did we know that the Lord had a little surprise for us which would leave us shaking our heads, laughing and smiling big ol’ banana smiles.   It was all actually kinda crazy.

So here’s the scoop.  In Indianapolis a sweet family came to hang out for the week-end with us.  They live in Northern Indiana and Karoline {the mom} and Emily {their daughter} have gone on two GO Teams with me.  Precious women!! We hadn’t met Tim {the boss}, but we hit it off immediately!  He wanted to meet us as Liberty and Emily are planning to go to intern next year at The Gem.  We spent some time visiting – it was wonderful.

image3 In the midst of talking, Tim and Karoline learned that we had our dogs with us.  And it just so happens that they love dogs.  And live on a farm.  And love us so much that they said, “Hey, let us help you out.  Let us take your furry girls home with us!”  We were  like, “That’s so sweet, thank you, but we aren’t coming back through Indianapolis.”  They responded, “No problem, we know where Knoxville is.”

Dw said, “But we might actually speak at a church in Nashville.”  Tim responded, “No problem, we know where Nashville is too.”  So our furry girls are having a glorious vacation of their own over on Tim, Karoline and Emily’s farm.  How crazy amazing is that??

Rumor is that Nellie has been rolling in horse pucky. Lexie Lou is said to not be a big fan of chickens or cats.  All three think Emily’s bed is the bomb.  And we cannot ever thank them enough for loving us so much that they would love our furry girls and bless us so generously.

image1 (1)And friends, it reminded me again that He hears our prayers.   He answers.  His timing is perfect.  And we couldn’t have planned a better time for Lexie Lou, Charlee Louise and Nellie.  What an amazing God we have and what amazing friends wIMG_4558e have!!

  1. I have been so moved by this Journey and all of the wonderful “Jesus Kids” that you all have been able to meet. But, this post just made me sob! I know how important our animal family members are. What a HUGE Blessing for everyone involved. He does indeed know ALL of our Needs and Desires. God Bless the Boss & Mom & Emily. I know your hearts and mind are relieved.
So, I am just wondering when Princess Ruby and her lovely family will e coming up to Minnesota??? I’d give anything to be able to give each and every one of you a big hug! I ordered Rescuing Ruby and it should be here tomorrow. I cannot wait to read it. Oh, and I gave a Gift to your fund to bring Job Wesley home.

    1. Thank you Jo. We have no Minnesota area trip planned yet. If we get some invites we will begin to make plans…that’s how this trip began…a few invites and now it is a pile of visits!! Maybe one day. Ruby’s East tour has been a giant hit – so who knows!! The only concern would be the weather, as we have a van that is not snow-prepared!!

  2. Jon Wesley! ugh, my eyesight has changed significantly & it’s difficult to see my keyboard. Did you receive my donation? Oh, there will be no issues with snow/weather if you travel in the summer!
