Happy Birthday to Our Sweet Baby Girl Liberty

This treasure-girl of ours turned 11 today. The day started with breakfast in bed {blueberry scones were her request and so at 6 something this AM I was heading to the grocery store to get frozen blueberries and they were yummmmmmmy!!}….and while still enjoying the pampering she got to open a package from her birth mom, Cheryl and her family.

Yes, Liberty came to us through an open adoption and I will do a Memorial Box Monday post about the miracle of her coming home to us. I am a HUGE proponent of Open Adoption and two of our girls came to us through it.

We have a blessed relationship with Liberty’s birth family and we do not take lightly the fact that Cheryl entrusted this precious girl to us. Liberty is a blessing to all who know her. Easy-going, wise beyond her years, she laughs easily and loves endlessly. She and Isaiah especially are buddies. Liberty and Emma share a bed and love each other to pieces. We cannot thank the Lord enough for allowing us the privilege of having Liberty in our family.

Liberty was thrilled with her presents during her breakfast. Later Dw & I took her to lunch at a place of her choice, where she was able to have a complimentary Death By Chocolate cause it was her birthday.

After lunch we headed to Starbucks for a long-awaited Carmel Frappacino {she’s talked about it for weeks – such a treat!!}.

And here are a bunch of pictures Abi sent….so thankful for a big sis who is a photographer and that she has a bunch of pictures from the kids growing up…..So very, very thankful. Have your home burn down and trust me, you will value every single picture anyone has!!

That’s Liberty and Emma’s horse Daisy……

Liberty’s beloved Boo-Boo….he was hit and killed by a car….we still miss him…

And since Liberty will be reading this post….I pray you feel inclined to wish her a Happy Birthday….what 11 year old wouldn’t be tickled with a bunch of people from around the world thinking about her?? You could even tell her where you’re from….she would totally get a kick out of that!!

  19. linny–i just tweeted you, but wanted to make sure you saw this:
i'm going to pray for this paper to show up, but also wanted to let you know that i didn't take the yellow fever vax [because i was still breastfeeding our youngest] and no one ever asked me or questioned it. not sure if that applies to where they're going, but if he knows he's covered and they don't ask, it might be fine.
you can e-mail me if you have other questions as to why this was okay in my case!

  29. Happy, happy birthday Liberty! From Karina in Denver. I hope someday to get to meet you. Do you like having boys as friends? I have twin boys that are 11, Tadd and Tim. They like mostly boy stuff like sports and legos, but they also play with their big sister pretty well too. Sometimes they've been known to play dress-up and actually wear dresses (but they'd be embarrassed if they knew I told you that)!

Anyway, it sounds like you had a very special day! May God bless you this year.

p.s. Did I mention that 11 is my favorite number? I think God made 11 just for me. What do you think?

Happy Birthday sweet one — all the way from Texas.

  47. Liberty, you are so loved and blessed beyond measure! God has been so gracious to you to set you in such an amazing family with such a wonderful mommy! Happy birthday! Breakfast in bed looked like it was lots of fun… I hope you enjoyed the rest of your day just as much.

I was here in Pennsylvania celebrating my son, Luke's 4th birthday 🙂 We had chocolate donuts with sprinkles for breakfast, went to Burger King to play for lunch, made Rice Crispy treats instead of birthday cake, and went Chuck E Cheese for dinner. It was such a fun day for him! I have to tell you, my little man is a real miracle from God. When I was pregnant with him, an ultrasound revealed a potentially life threatening sickness. By the amazing power of our God, the situation completely fixed itself while he was still in my belly and he came to us with absolutely no damage at all!!! God was gracious and answered our prayers. Luke is amazing, extremely intelligent, sweet, handsome and lovable… and he's SO special. I trust God has some amazing things in store for him, just as I'm sure He does for you! Just wanted you to know that you shared your birthday with my special little boy.

PS. I especially LOVE the picture of you and the horse 🙂 What a beautiful young lady you are!
