Hmmmm…..

A short and sweet post…

First, you guys are awesome {I didn’t expect anything less}….

thank you soooo much for all the ideas!!
I have gleaned a few and we will be incorporating them.
I will post the ideas tomorrow and what we are going to do.
The delay in posting is to give everyone an opportunity to give their in put.
Lastly, I went and got my hair cut today.
As I was driving there, I thought, “I should try something new.”
So while I waited I poured over the books with all sorts of styles.
{My.oh.my. there are some interesting dos out there.}
Anyway, when my stylist {Victoria, and seriously the sweetest young lady out there} came I showed her what I was thinking.  She told me about it and I said, “Let’s do it.”
Maybe my adventuresome spirit should have been reigned in 8 days before a major life event like a daughter’s wedding.  *giggle*
I came home and was greeted at the door by some of my littles.
Elijah’s words?  “Mom you look weird.”
Elizabeth grinned and wagged her head at me.  She is my spunky-girl!
Jubilee kept laughing.
Dw just shook his head {I think in disbelief}.
Now seriously, could it really look that different?
Especially when it already is pretty short.
But I guess it does look pretty different
{for plain ol’ mom anyway},
I was going to post a picture, but think I best not.
Don’t want to freak anyone out.
So I guess it will be unveiled on wedding day.
If I can get it to look as stylin’ as Victoria is able, that is.
Happy Friday to all of you too!

  1. That is so wrong! You can't post about your new hair and not show us a picture! Someone please get out the blog handbook! 🙂
    I'm sure it looks great:)
    Blessings,
    Rebecca

  2. That is just like you sneaky, Linny, to tell us and bait us and then NOT show us! Another thing I adore about you! Have fun getting ready for the special day! I can't wait to see the pics!

  3. I understand the temptation to do something radical with the hair! I'm about to go extreme pixie…seriously. I'm just tired of foolin' with it! Who has time for all this?

  4. I bet you look absolutely beautiful as always…your family was just speechless but why is it we can never change our appearance without it causing such a stir?

On another thought…I have been thinking about you alot…just love reading about your family and am so amazed at how far Ruby has come along…what a story of her spiritual strength. Working in the NICU, I see so many babies that are only alive because of their strength and God's love. It is an inspiration.
Anyhow…back to the discussion at hand…My son leaves for the Marines next Sunday. When he enlisted, I felt such a sense of calm about the whole thing. He was raised Catholic but did convert to Southern Baptist a couple years ago. I know he will be ok…but people keep asking me how I feel about it…right now I just feel like I will miss him so much…he is only 18 and this is it for him living with us and being a child. Seems like the end of a life moment and onto something else such as being an adult. If I may ask, how did you feel when your son left for the military? I don't really know anyone who has a child in the military. How do you cope with it?
    Any suggestions would be welcomed.

    Love,

    Wendy

  5. SERIOUSLY, you are not going to let us see until the wedding? First the dress NOW the hair cut! You are sure into making us all crazy. I know, I know… we wouldn't be happy if you didn't pull your stunts once in a while…it's one of the things we love about you. 🙂

  6. you are such a tease!!! that is not very nice!!! 🙂 i'm sure it looks beautiful! how could it not? you are beautiful so no matter what haircut you get….you will still be beautiful. now put a picture up!!!!! 🙂

  7. I'm anxious to see what style you went with, as this fifty-something has been thinking about going short again, even though my hair finally grew long enough to keep off my neck this summer with a ponytail!

  8. That's funny Linny. I just got my hair all cut off and put in highlights Friday too. My hair gets shorter every time Mark goes to Uganda. He better take me with him next time or I might end up bald haha

  9. You know, that's really not nice to tease us like that, tell us how funky awesome your haircut is and then refuse to show us for another 8 days. Stinker!!!
