Ummm. Why Not?

Yes, it’s mid-February.
Yes, the water is still very chilly.
But it’s Phoenix.
And really,
why not?
After all, the kids checked it last week
and supposedly it was so much warmer this week.
Uh-huh.
Riiiiiiight.
Clearly shows that where there is a will,
there is a great imagination.
So in they went…
one at a time…
Wait for it…..

Elijah hits the water and he’s still smiling
I think his face is actually frozen…

Bethie’s look says it all,
“Yup.  We’re out of our minds!”
Pretty sure Isaiah’s thinking,
“I thought it was warmer than last week,
but I won’t let mom know that I already
can’t feel my toes.”
“I’m awake.  I’m awake.  I’m awake.”
Sisters.  Sisters.  Sisters.
It’s their job to annoy big brothers.
“OH MY!”
Nehemiah’s face says,
“I can do this.
I can do this.
I can do this.”
“Wait!  Changed my mind.
Maybe it won’t feel so cold in a cannonball.”
“I love this!”

And then they decide to do it together
{or at least some pretend they are going to do it together.}

Jubilee hadn’t wanted to…

until she decided they couldn’t be crazy without her.
{She hates, hates, hates being cold.}

Keep an eye on Jubilee’s face…

It’s filled with freaked out anticipation
as Liberty literally pulls her in.

Keep watching Jubilee
She’s going with it…
{of course she has no choice}

Look at Elijah,
he’s hysterical cause he’s not going.

He and Isaiah tricked them all…

Jubilee’s still okay…

and then her feet actually feel the water…
“NOOOOOOOO…THIS IS HORRIBLE!”

Elijah makes a run for it…
laughing his head off the whole way..

And although Jubilee’s certainly frozen
she’s giggling.
What a good sport!

Ruby was in shock the entire time,
I’m sure she was mumbling something like,
“Lunatics.”
She seems to think there are definite perks
to being in a wheelchair.

    1. I couldn't help myself Holly. I know there is so much snow out there and growing up in Buffalo AND spending almost 8 years in the Rocky Mountains…I know why snow is a FOUR letter word! I love Phoenix!! Stay warm!

  1. BRR!!!!! I remember when we lived in Pensacola, Fl. area in the winter months and the boys wanted
to swim in the pool….Being from up North, way up north in the frozen tundra of Wis. near Green Bay,
they ran and jumped in the pool….That was the one and only time in the pool till it was nice and
warm to go swimming….Shivering watching the kids jumping in that water….
Now in Triad of NC and it is just now warming up a bit…to 60's from 25-35….
    Love from NC

  2. Love it! We have our own "swimming in February" crazies here in So Cal. They just can't resist that water when it's 80 degrees outside; even though the pool water is under 60!

  3. I love it!!! Those sweet treasures of yours get me giggling all the time!!! Enjoy that warm weather and let us know when it warms up enough for YOU to go in:):)
