But God!

I now understand Linny’s time on the blog. I am in tears by all of your comments.

Yes, I am scared and not very spiritual feeling at the moment. That’s being vulnerable from this Pastor’s heart to yours. I awoke with the though, why the two times? Then it hit me, she’s going to say yes to one, no to the other. When I went on Linn’s blog and read that she had posted the same concern I thought, no Lord this can’t happen. When i talked to Linn I started to cry and told her, “this can’t happen – our family sticks together and they are family ! We will do whatever it takes to get them home.” Of course then I sit here back in reality and realize we are powerless. Powerless to change anything. I’m here way to far away to use any persuasive lawyer skills that i use to use. Powerless to try to talk to the judge personally. Powerless to figure this thing out. I hate powerlessness. But God!

Your comments let us know we are not alone. We know that but words of encouragement are like a sweet spring rain to this thirsty heart.

But God. Yes, but God. In my weakness He is strong! In my powerlessness He has all the power. Teaching time again Lord? You, Lord, are all powerful. The heart of the judge is in your hand. So I though weak will rise up in the power of the cross. We will pray together, we have seen His mighty hand before, we will see it again. Move the heart of the judge Lord, move!

Thanks for standing with us and listening to the ramblings of my heart. I might have to write a book sometime that’s called “The Confessions of a Blog Addicted Wife’s Husband – subtitled – “She was right after all!” (Sorry guys!) dwight

  1. Dw & Linn…Oh sweet friends! This post made me want to cry. BUT GOD!!

I have been fasting and praying all morning that God would give the judge a restless spirit until she decides that she will rule in the favor of E & E coming home.

    God is faithful….ALWAYS faithful.

    PRAYING HARD…then praying some more.

    LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

  2. But God! That says it all, Dw and Linn…But God! We are powerless over so much, but the God of the universe, who loves Elijah and Elizabeth with an everlasting love, a love we cannot comprehend, knows their days from beginning to end. We can rest in that assurance of the ONE who created them. They will come home…claiming His power, His truths, HIS PROMISES…He promises a future and a hope. Your obedience to care for the orphan will not go without a blessing–I’m sure of it!
Perhaps He’s calling us to a whole new level of submission…praying without ceasing. That is what we shall do!!

    You are loved, friends!!

    Your children are loved!!
    Gayle and Curtis

  3. May God dive in a take over the hear tof the Judge. May she see the love and care and the life that you all could provide for these children. May she understand and sympathize with the heartbreak that could be felt by all involved and in blog world if things don't goi the way we hope and pray thaey will. I pray God's will be done and that it is His plan for E&E to come home. Faith & Strength in God. Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Prayers are going out constantly by all who know. You have a blanket of prayer covering you. And Dwight, though you're stuck here in the states, all these prayers include you and your heart for Him! I am praying so hard & faithfully!

  4. Oh Dwight! How I wish I could come over and hug you right now! The Lord has moved mountains already to bring these two prescious babies home to you and he will continue to do so! You are surrounded by many in prayer right now.

    With much love and prayer,
    Marcie

P.s. I think you need to start your own blog! You are enjoying this far to much not to! And the book sounds very fun! *winks*

  5. It’s all in changing the emphasis:

But God – gave Abraham and Sarah a child!

But God – provided a sacrifical lamb and spared Abraham’s son!

But God – gave Hannah the child she prayed for!

But God – provided Jacob the fortitude to wait for his wife!

But God – can bring those children home!

  6. All I can think about is 2 Chronicles 20 and the story of Jehoshaphat…The judge feels like a vast army right now, or at least the weapon of the vast army in the heavenlies.

    J. cried out to God, “For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you.”

And the LORD responded, “‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s. Tomorrow march down against them (Linn will as she goes before the judge)…You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you (sweet Elijah and Elizabeth). Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them (her)tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.’ ”

Thank you so much for your transparency…for sharing this journey with us…for allowing us to pray and fight with you…I can’t wait to see what the Lord will do…

“Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.” Habakkuk 1:5

    Praying hard…

  7. Dwight (and Linny),

Following along and PRAYING in Texas!

The Steven Curtis Chapman song, “Yours” keeps running through my head . . . “It’s all Yours God, Yours, God . . . every child in Africa is Yours.”

“And I hear children’s voices singing
Of a God who heals and rescues and restores
    And I’m reminded
That every child in Africa is Yours.”

“And its all Yours, God, Yours, God
    Everything is Yours
From the stars in the sky
To the depths of the ocean floor
And its all Yours, God, Yours, God
    Everything is Yours
You’re the Maker and Keeper, Father and Ruler of everything
    It’s all Yours”

When it comes time for the ruling, the judge will be in the courtroom, but the KING, the Ruler of everything, will be ON HIS THRONE! And it’s all HIS!

Praying in agreement with you all that Elijah and Elizabeth, God’s littlest birds, will be set free to fly!!!

May the Lord give you His peace~

    Blessings from Texas,

    Tina Winder
(Mama to five, big and little . . . The most recent one, our little bird Theadora, set free to fly from China this past May. He is faithful!)

  8. Dw,
I can’t imagine what you are going through. I do want to say though that I’m so glad your blogging and you can’t stop once Linn gets back with BOTH those children. Linn needs to either share her blog or you need to write one.

So can you tell my husband that being a blog addict isn’t a bad thing?
