Sunday’s Update

Don’t you just love how much God loves us?
Last night when Ruby was having her trouble, it was late.
Really late for most.  I thought, “Who’s going to pray Lord?
We need our friends to pray for Ruby!”
As I mentioned, I texted the kids and a few friends who
I knew would pray and who I knew wouldn’t care
if they were woke up by getting a text from me.
Eventually both Dw and I were able to post on Facebook and
yet I wondered how many would see it and pray.
{Dozens left comments before too long had passed!}
But just like the faithfulness of God….
guess what He did?

I am praying for each of you. I don’t know when all of this took place but at 2am I woke from a dead sleep and began praying for Ruby Grace. God has a plan for Ruby Grace. So sorry your heart has to go through all this.

I could not sleep last night and now I know why. The Lord usually allows me wakefulness in time of need. I prayed for Ruby and am fasting today and will continue. I am so thankful that you have prayer warriors lifting up the needs of your precious daughter. Thankfully she is also a daughter of the King of Kings and ALmighty Healer and Comforter. I am honored to lift her up today. Invading the throne on her behalf… Much love Courtney

It’s amazing when you love someone you don’t know and you pray earnestly for them; the Lord confides in you and gives you special insight on how to pray specific. Without sounding weird or creepy, with all honesty inside me, the Lord woke me up at 12:35 PST and I came to the couch, sat in the dark and prayed for Ruby. My heart was overwhelmed with prayer for her. The Lord specifically told me to pray in the area of seizers. I’m not even sure if I am wording this right or not. However, it was laid strongly on my heart to pray against seizers. I stand amazed at how He is speaking to me regarding Ruby. I love this child and I pray for her with all my heart. I will continue to pray for her. I will pray for your family as well. For strength for DW and you. I am at the throne for you. Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Can you believe Him?
If need be, the Lord will wake people up all over the
world just to intercede for someone in need.
{My gracious, I absolutely love that about Him!}

Truly amazing.

Anyway, an update:

Ruby has had a peaceful day.

Oh, I almost forgot!

Get this!

They did the EEG for most of the night and this afternoon they took the leads off because, “there is no seizure activity being seen.”

Yippee Jesus!

Robin, you were praying specifically about seizures
and there were none recorded.

Do you see what prayer accomplishes?

He’s always, always, always completely faithful.

Ruby is still on full strength oxygen.
Flat on her back.
Head mid-line position.
Bed tilted opposite of normal.
Meds.
Keeping her mellow and
thankful that 24 {of 48} crucial hours are over.
Tomorrow more tests to see if there is any change.

And as I was typing this Ruby just woke up.
I had been holding her hand as she slept
{typing one handed is a real trick!}
I started telling her how much I love her.
And then I leaned over her and started kissing her.
Heather, Ruby’s nurse, was in here and saw.
Ruby got a pleasant look as I gently kissed her all over.
Precious baby girl, she knows Mommy loves her so much.

Please keep praying for her healing
-and-
If you should wake in the night and she’s on your mind?
That would be His idea and you know what to do!!

  1. Amazing! I did not even think about it until reading this post, but I woke up about 2:00am EST, I rarely wake up during the night. I checked on my kids and then spent some time praying for friends in need. Ruby Grace was on the list! Praying that the next 24 hours bring many more reports of God's healing touch on her life. Praying for strength for the rest of you!

  2. I have just been praying non stop and running to the computer constantly to find updates. I am soo happy & Continuing to pray for your sweet girl. Thank you for being such an example of God's miracles and also taking the time to let us know how you all are doing. You are dearly loved! GO JESUS!

  3. Praise God! I woke up at 6AM and Ruby was on my heart as well. So glad that our God is available 24/7, never sleeps and is always moving on our behalf. Continuing to send prayers your way!!

  4. Praying for you, your family, especially sweet Ruby. We have a Ruby of our own out there somewhere so when a friend told me about your blog I was immediately drawn in and have been praying. She and I even text back and forth about updates regarding your sweet Ruby. Praying for healing, comfort, and abounding love to continually be poured on your precious family.

  5. Once asleep I usually sleep like a rock, but for some reason I awoke a few times last night also. Rarely do I look at FB in the middle of the night, but last night I did. Yes, God knows and He hears and is so faithful! So glad I could pray and will continue to lift up your family. Believing Him for complete healing!

  6. Wow God is so good. Pastor LInny I woke up last night about 315 a.m. central time and asked the Lord to place his healing hands on either side of Ruby's head. . .Now reading your update I know it was our amazing God that woke me up to pray for your precious babe!

    Blessings,
    Suzanne

  7. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise because of your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.-Psalm 8:2
Miss Ruby's story keeps reminding me of this verse. How much has already silenced the evil one! The entire world has taken note of the praise she has given her Father. The praise she has spoken in her story, in her of Grace. No wonder the foe is trying to stop her, she is bringing so many closer to the One she sings praises!

  8. Prayers continue.
Ruby is SO VERY covered in prayer. God knows without a doubt how much we all love her, and you!
p.s. I think you type better one-handed than many do with two : )

  9. Even when I don't leave a note, I am daily- hourly praying here. I 've recruited like minded mamas in this! Many adoptive moms in Northern Colorado are praying for all of you…
    Love,
    Lorisa in Greeley

  10. Praying in Maine for R.G.!

We saw your previous post in the middle of a really crazy/busy family day (church, then a local children's concert-where a miracle happened, and then the annual Thankful Dinner at our church).

The (4) kids and I sat in a circle on the floor of our living room before leaving for church tonight. We prayed. My son's prayer was…well, perfect:

"Dear God. We thank you so much for healing Ruby Grace's head. We know you are going to do it. She has a great plan. Thanks, God. Amen." – Z-man, age 4

Thanking Him now for what he is going to do! Period. That is the faith of a child.

(BTW, after the children's concert tonight, a woman approached me and told me that she thinks she has ~200 photos of my younger girls from when they were infants! She recognized then dancing to the music. She knows someone who knew their birth family. What a blessing this will be! Sometimes it is the little things.)

  11. So thankful…so in awe over all the Lord is doing through such a sweet lamb of God! You and DW are living this scripture out:
“ The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
    Because He has anointed Me
    To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD."
    Luke:4:18-19

Lifting you high and lifted up in unceasing prayer….to God be the Glory for the great things He is doing. Praying over you specifically for strength, perseverance, endurance and good health….for a good night sleep tonight…God is with you and sweet Ruby!! Thank You, Lord!<3

  12. I've had a busy weekend and am only just getting caught up on your blog. Last night around 2am (not sure of the exact time) I was prompted to pray for Ruby Grace too! I was actually sitting in the ER with a friend of mine who needed a friend to go with her to while she was getting treated for an intense migraine. (Her husband is deployed and she was in too much pain to drive herself.)I was praying in my heart for my friend and I felt the Lord put Ruby Grace on my heart. Just imagine the sense of awe I had when I read your posts from the past few days this evening! So glad that I was awake and able to pray for her. Our God really is amazing!

  13. Loving you, holding you up in prayer, holding Ruby Grace up before the mercy seat and NEVER putting her down! Jesus hands are surrounding your precious girl and HIs never failing arms are around you all. night waking in prayer for baby girl has been a nightly occurance. GOd knows the Knee Team! He took us seriously when we signed up! 🙂 we sang Never Alone in church this morning and i just knew He was with Ruby and you all, so i sang for you! May your bleeding hearts be lifted and i pray strength into your weary arms but we will NEVER stop lifting Ruby up before the Master Healer. Love from Montana!

  14. WA State here. Can't sleep. Didn't want to check email or anything else on computer then I thought…I need to check on Ruby Grace. It is 12:44am and I'm on my knees (in a minute) praying! For Ruby, for you, for DW, for your sweet ones at home, for God's plan to move mountains to continue! Hugs to you, Linny. May God comfort you as you minister to your little angel!

  15. I came over from Tiffany's blog. You have an incredible group of blogging friends! A mom in the midwest is adding her prayers for your sweet girl, those that are caring for her, and the family that loves her.

  16. I have to come out from being a lurker to tell you that this post is so timely, or should I say God! I have been praying for Ruby and you all, but I had to tell you that last night I woke up and had Ruby on my mind! I knew I had to pray for her!

I cry so very often when reading your posts, and I am blessed so much by your faithfullness to our Loving Savior!

You and your family and especially Ruby Grace will continue to be in my prayers!

    Be Blessed!

  17. At the present time, i am on holiday in Singapore from Australia. It is 2.30a.m. Tuesday morning. I have awoken and am praying for ruby. I am having craps due to dehydration so really praying against seizures and that Ruby's body would feel peace in itself. Loe to you all.
