Someone asked if it was true that Big Dave had passed away.
Yes, it’s true.
Sometimes it is difficult to understand life.
God is sovereign.
He is faithful.
It doesn’t make sense in our human minds,
yet He is still faithful.
Here is a link to the article from the Miami paper.
His funeral service will be held this coming Friday,
February 10th, 2012,
in Columbus, Ohio.
Please continue to pray for Nicolle and their family.
Yes, we do not always understand the mysteries of God, but He is soverign and we can trust Him. Dave's wife said it well when she said that we were to still keep praying, that prayer was powerful and mighty and that God hears our prayers. She has been such a testimony to others in her responses of trusting and loving God and forgiving her husband's murderer.
Whenever God calls one of his saints home, it is because they have finished the race. We usually don't understand this. We feel that they have so much more to give. But in His sovereignty, God has already determined (for each of us!) the day of our birth, as well as the day of our death. That day was Big Dave's day. It was his coronation day. And totally pre-ordained and not a surprise to God! I always take comfort in this fact-God knows all things! We can rest in this!!
Heartbreaking. But beautiful to know he is with the Father.

We offer our prayers for God's grace and mercy for Nicolle and that God's ministry in Haiti would move forward through the "ripple" effect of Dave's life.
This breaks my heart. Really breaks it. I wrote on my blog about Dave's heavenly homecoming and how it is a dance between grief and joy… joy and grief. Despite what happened in Port-au-Prince, I will be going back again to serve orphans there. That bullet did not bring the end to the good work that will continue on in Haiti for His glory.

So sorry to hear of his passing. It is a weird feeling to know we were in Haiti at the time this happened…Thankful for God's mercy…
So sorry to hear of such a precious man's passing. In our early vision, we can't possibly see why Jesus would bring him home now, with such circumstances…
I will continue to hold his family up in prayer during these difficult days… and that the witness and celebration of his life will stand as a testimony to the God he served faithfully.
It is heartbreaking because it is the second time she has been widowed. May the Lord heal her heart with His peace and presence.
Praying for the family. L

So saddened by this news. Our only hope and our only peace comes from trusting the One who sees the big picture. I am heartbroken for this sweet family. I know the Lord will hold them close.
