T.M.

Well friends, you definitely made my week-end
so much more fun.
Our Faith Walk:
Your response to the Sneak Peek has had me laughing
for the last few minutes.
and
Dana:
Maybe we should hang out sometime.
Wait.
Do ya’ think the world could handle it?
I am so glad so many of you laughed when you saw “the peek”.
I just love to play and have fun.
And yes, my family gets doses of it regularly.
Thank you for laughing with me this week-end.
God’s word says:
“A glad heart makes a cheerful face.”
Proverbs 15:13
God’s word also says,
“A joyful heart is good medicine.”
Proverbs 17:22

Frankly, I needed some medicine.
Did you?
Sometimes it just feels good to leave the
heavy stuff aside for a few days.
And for the record, I am really grateful that
you all roll with my humor.
I remember, once upon a time, living somewhere new and
each time I would say something to be a wise guy people would
just turn and stare at me with that blank “huh?” look every.single.time.
I would try to explain and their expression never changed.
I finally quit joking around.
They just didn’t get me.
At.All.
But then on the flip side, once-upon-a-time we were pastoring
in at one church and I earned a nickname from our small group.
They eventually abbreviated it to T.M.
Anyone want to guess what T. M. stood for?
Go ahead.
Take a shot.
I’ll send ya’ a Hershey bar if you’re the first person
 to figure it out.

  1. Does T.M. stand for "Too Much", as in you are "Too Much" fun! You always have me giggling!!! Your blog posts are not only encouraging, but full of healthy doses of laughter. Praise God for great senses of humor. :O)

  2. Too much?

haha that's the abbreviation my family always uses. If we post a picture of one of the kids being silly, someone comments: "oh, she is just tm!" : )

  3. I think they called you….too much! Your such a kidder and I think they said Linny you are too much! I love your playful spirit…life does not have to be so serious all the time!

    Hugs,
    Robin

  4. Not sure…maybe Teasing Monster:) or teasing mama??? Maybe tricky monster or tricky mama………

Anyways….Can't wait to figure out what it really does stand for…or will you trick us again;)

Hope it was okay that i guessed 4 different things:) Too late now;)

  5. The first thing that came to my mind was TMI: "Too Much Infirmation" without the I… just "Too Much"… As in you're just Too Much!!I can relate!
    Blessings,
    Rebecca

  6. Hi Linny!
I'm new here! A saw a link to your blog from someone else's blog that was probably a link from another friend's blog…You know the drill. Anyway, I found your blog and have been reading through some of the stories on the right column. Haven't read through them all of course, but WOW! WOW! WOW!
I love the Memorial Box idea. I think I want to make one for my family to remember God's faithfulness in our lives. It is such a beautiful idea.
My husband and I have two treasures, sweet little boys we adopted from Guatemala. We are working on a third (hopefully a fourth) from Honduras, so I love the pictures of all your beautiful treasures.

Oh, before I forget, was your name "The Mouth??"

    Your sister in Christ,
    Angela

  7. Linny – I think the world needs a bit of shaking up anyway, don't you? SOOOO happy to know someone like me! (told you I always felt like that square peg in the round hole!)

BTW- on Friday we welcomed two new little fosters into our home! God is so good and we are ecstatic feeling like we are where He wants us to be!

Hmmm… girl, you know I want that chocolate, but for the life of me I can't think of what that TM stands for! lol!

  8. You don't even want to know what I was thinking for TM. No, really, it's not bad, just not something I would post here. LOL And SURELY it's not what they would have called you. 🙂 Can't wait to hear the answer! Darn for not winning the Hershey bar though — they are my favorites!! (without almonds though!) 🙂

  9. Trouble Maker!!! Sorry Linny, only thing I could think of that could start with TM!! My nieces go around calling my husband Uncle Turkey, since he can be such a turkey! I LOVE it!!! So excited for you all this week with the wedding, and little miss Ruby feeling better and your new Absolutely precious granddaughter! Sounds like you had a fun weekend! Please give all your sweet treasures love and hugs from me! I stalk your blog all the time!

    Love,

    Sarah from Portales, NM

  10. Well, Linny. The first thought I had for TM was "Too Much". Now, it's probably not that at all. But, I would have to say that if I were blessed to hang out with you on a regular basis your humor, your light hearted spirit, your way of seeing the most important, meaningful things in life is simply "TOO MUCH!" You inspire me. I'm a young mother whose heart is broken for the orphan. I have two daughters and we are on the adoption journey. Things are challenging right now, and honestly there are days that I'm not sure that we'll ever see our journey come to completion, but if we never see the adoption journey complete God has done an amazing work in my life. He has broken my heart for the orphan. I cherish each word you write on your blog. I have laughed with you, cried with you, and pondered so many deep, compelling words that you've written. You realy are TOO MUCH!!! Blessings!

  11. De-lurking because chocolate can apparently lure me right out of lurk-dom! haha! And yes, I needed a laugh today and was so glad to giggle a little when I read your blog. Between your humor and your great soundtrack (sometimes I leave your blog open in the background of my computer while I work to just listen to the music!) to the miracles you share on Mondays, I am hooked on your blog. And I think you and I might be more connected than you realize!

So, as for T.M. – here are my guesses 😉
    Totally Messin' 😉
    Tornado Mama
Tickle Monster (hmmm this one doesn't seem like your small group would have given that one to you, but then again we haven't met in person to verify if you would indeed be a tickle monster ;))
    Thoughtfully Mischevious
    Tiny Maniac
Okay… I give up! I can't wait to hear your nickname!

  12. THE TEASE MONSTER!
as lovely as you are, your teasing is out of control…hehehe

But in your defense, you are sooo good at it. It takes a lot of self control and patience to do what you do and do it so well. 😉

  13. Hmmm this could get interesting and many blog posts of ideas. going to have to ponder ALL day but will start with
    1. TERRIFIC MOM
    2 terrible mischief
    3 tormenting minnie!
    4 truely magnificant!
    5 tickle monster!
    6 the meany!
    7 the mouse!
Ok brain run out of ideas! off to do housework, and homeschool to get more inspiration!!!
hope these make you smile and chuckle too.
Love, hugs and prayers to you all. XXX

  14. I would bet Tickle Monster is out, as that's just a tad too invasive for folks you just met! LOL

But I'm thinking Total Mayhem would apply quite nicely because you can easily have us all giggling and being quite the distraction (especially when I read your blog at work!).

And now instead of working some more like I should be, I'm going to ponder more guesses! 🙂

  15. Okay….my guess is "Too Much"…meaning…"Oh Linny, you are just Too Much". We often say that around this house when someone is off the wall clowning around…hmmmm…kinda sounds like you. lol!
    Jami

  16. I believe that people would have rolled their eyes and thought you were "TOO MUCH".

I am glad you didn't believe them and decided to have fun with us, your readers.

  17. I'm guessing it's "too much." But everyone seems to have guessed that already. So, maybe it's "taunting monkey!" (And if I win, you don't have to send me a Hershey bar, though I would appreciate it; I live 2 miles from where they're made! You should come visit some time.) 🙂
