Truly a Win/Win

What a delight to my soul to share such sweet news today…
really, I’m almost giddy…..
Just about a year ago we announced the launch of Orphan Wares….
Orphan Wares is the fulfillment of a God-given dream where artisans and crafters
{or those who have unique/vintage/gift cards items} donate them to be sold and
100% of the proceeds from the sales {with the exception of shipping}
 goes to IVO’s Frontlines Feeding+ program….
Many of you know, that at the time I shared this dream, a bloggy friend named Kala
stepped forward and said, “Hey, my husband and I just bought a
home with a warehouse on it that is 1800 sq ft…
Do you think that Orphan Wares would be able to be housed in our warehouse?
Wow.
Only a faithful orphan-loving God could do that!
And the rest is history.
People around the globe have been hearing about Orphan Wares,
many donating items…Others shopping….
Just think about it – someone who loves to do woodwork or sew or
paint or create anything at all – lovingly creating and donating their time
and talent and workmanship to the orphan by mailing their items…
And then Kala and her team receive the donations at the warehouse in
California…they then take photos, upload them to the site…
And sweet people from around the globe purchase the items and Kala
and her team ship them out…
Truly a Win/Win
So the other day I asked Dw, how much has Orphan Wares raised through
the purchases of the goods on the web site?
Are you ready for this?
Seriously??
Ready?
We are not just a few dollars short of raising
$2,000.
$2,000 to feed the street orphans in Kampala, Uganda!!!
Can you believe it?
Faithful God…using ordinary people like you and me doing what we love to do:

create

or

shop
Every penny going to feed the orphans on the streets of Kampala…
So today we have a really fun announcement as well…

  1. Hey, just to let others know and encourage them, I ordered a couple items awhile ago and was very happy with the quality and received them promptly. Great place to shop and love knowing I am helping the orphans.

  2. Yeah! I was already planning to purchase a couple of items as stocking stuffers. This was the push I needed to actually get that done. I LOVE that I'm purchasing items for family for Christmas and at the same time I get to support orphans.

  3. I just went and did my Christmas shopping for teachers on your website. Such sweet, original gifts. I can't wait to give them out to our favorite teachers this year!

  4. This will be my first time commenting on your site. I just wanted to take the chance to say a big thank you to whoever made the donation to make the free shipping thing happen. I really appreciated being able to purchase some reasonably priced, handmade Christmas presents for my friends, and my friends will really appreciate that every dollar I spent will go to feed kids! It's like two gifts in one! (Plus, a bit less time spent at the big box store is a bonus Christmas gift for my husband and I!)
