It has been an exceptionally busy week
and today we decided to spend the morning
baking as a team
so we could enjoy brunch together
and just hunker down in
chilly and rainy Phoenix.
This pile of treasures of ours
totally loves
grating,
whisking,
chopping,
frying,
measuring,
stirring,
and grating some more.
And that little gem in the background?
She was in the thick of it,
having a blast the entire time!
I trust your day has been spent doing something that
brought your heart some delight.
PS And the casseroles we made?
I had invented the recipe.
It was a complete fail.
Not even kidding.
Like not one bit.
Seriously.
Awful.
Oh dear 🙁 but they were having fun grating, whisking, etc together and sweet Ruby had fun too 🙂
Yes, they all had sooo much fun…thank goodness! But what a flop! Ha!
LOL! Great memories for the kids though I'm sure. I can just hear them now…
"Mom, remember that time when we spent the entire morning slaving over our food, and we were so excited to sit down and eat it together, and we all thought how awesomely good it was gonna be? Remember how nasty it was? Do you remember that you didn't follow a recipe Mom? Boy that was sure silly, huh?"
I make up my own recipes often…however, usually I am successful in having it taste good.
Ah yes, but the layers of togetherness in the Treasure casserole – exquisite!
Perhaps one of them can come up with an improvement and it can be a running course in experimental cookery.
Love,
Sandy
Perhaps….the problem was my frugal economics…and so I skimped on the yummy stuff and overdid the blah stuff…ha!
This post brought me so much joy. Cooking with kids is awesome! I'm so inspired to bake with mine tomorrow now! <3
Happy, happy baking! I have loved baking with my sweet pile since Abi was less than a year – so 30 years now! It brings such joy!
