Home – Just in Time

Always incredibly difficult for any of us to leave that
favorite missionary of ours.
The other side of the world is just so very
stinkin’ far away.
But then I come through the security doors and see this face….
and her sheer glee interspersed with shrieks of utter delight
just melts my heart away….
{and to think some said she would never do anything –
look at her smile – she is ecstatic that her mama is back}
And then there are these handsome little treasures
who have missed their mommy oh-so-much….
and have hugged me more times then I can count
since landing…
and I am completely undone….
Home just in time to
celebrate
[today]
the birthday of the daddy-man of all these treasures….
and yes, fairly jet-lagged but smiling and
grateful to be married to that man o’mine…
Can’t believe I met him when he had just turned 21,
oh me.

Who knew what the Lord would have in store?
Happy birthday handsome husband…
And thank you, sweet man, for letting me go to Africa
and be there for the monumental launch of
and holding down the fort while I was gone…
and even saying you can’t believe I do all I do with
Ruby’s sleep {or lack there of} schedule….
{now you know why I fall asleep if I sit down in the evening}
Here’s to a beautiful year of surprises from the Lord
😉
and living simply to please Jesus,
while simply loving one another…
You’re the best!!
So grateful we have gotten to do life together….

  1. What fun of seeing your adorable children again. Glad you had a safe trip home, Linny! Happy birthday to DW, your wonderful husband. Thanks for what you are doing to help others live better and spread the word and love of Jesus many, many, many miles away. Hugs and rest up my friend!

  2. You are truly a wealthy woman – those sweet hugs, that precious little gem so joyful at seeing her mama, those beautiful girls in their lovely dresses and a great husband and life partner. I know you miss Emma and glad you got to go see her. I haven't heard anything about her little boy – hope all is going wll there. I pray for them and for Emma's new foundation – so wonderful to see that happen! She is an amazing woman who is doing great things at an age where most kids I know are still hooked on texting friends and having fun with little sense of responsibility. I love your family!

  3. Happy Birthday Dwight. You a wonderful example of a christ-ful daddy. Your treasures are lucky to have a daddy for your princes's to grow up to be like and for your princess's to wait for a guy as wonderful as daddy(I know you will say you are equally blessed to have your treasures.) Thankyou for sharing your life on here and being a role model. I'm sure your glad your Linny Lee is back for your birthday and so you can get some sleep after surviving the gorgeous smilie miss ruby's night owl ways. The photos of the kids Linny so happy to have Mummy home(and know you haven't left as they worried you could) just warms my heart. It must be bitter sweet to have to leave your favourite missionary miss Emmy who is following her Jesus, but you also miss all your shorter cuddly treasures left at home as well as your handsome. Have fun celebrating with lots of candles wink.
