Taking the Plunge

I wonder how many people wait until the last possible minute to do something?

What is it about that?

Time is running out and people seem to be dilly-dallying and suddenly, just at the
last possible second they swoop in and swoosh{!} do what needs to be done!

I confess I am not an early bird {unless I am alone}.  I am the last one
wherever we are going…plugging along….with usually at least seven kids in tow –
and one little treasure in a wheelchair.

Over the week-end I received an email.

And friends, the time is about to expire.

So knowing that there are many who seem to linger until the last minute,
I can’t help but believe that there are some who have been pondering this very
thing…perhaps praying about it and wondering if they should ‘take the plunge’.

A summer with a family will give each child one thing:

HOPE

Hope is an incredible gift.

So how about it?

It’s the 11th hour…

Go ahead –

JUMP!

Take the plunge!

You know you want to!

So what will you be plunging into?

How about this….

Opening your home for a few weeks this summer for some precious treasures
to see what a family looks like, what a family feels like and what a family is like.

There are some orphans longing, some even praying and all dreaming of coming to
spend five weeks in America this summer.

What about you and your family?

Their wishes are undeniable.

They wish for a family.

But you wonder:  I can’t adopt.

That’s okay, last year a family I know hosted a young girl.  They were unable to adopt her, but in the process of hosting her, friends of theirs met her and said, “She is exactly who we are longing to have come home to our home.”

Only God!!

So it’s the 11th hour, time is definitely running out, but you know you’ve been wondering, pondering, praying and thinking about it….a family mission trip without leaving home!

All have a scholarship available from what I can tell.

Jump!

  1. Thanks so much for posting this!! My right across the street neighbors hosted 2 children over Christmas and are going to bring home both of them AND their 2 siblings from Ukraine in the next few months! Another one street over neighbor hosted last summer and over Christmas – that boy AND his two brothers are being adopted by a different family!! I'm praying that your readers hearts will be open and more children will be hosted in these last final hours!!
