The trip has officially begun and St. Louis here we come!!!
We left Phoenix and arrived late Friday night to stay with Autumn in her home. She couldn’t wait for us to get there and had a giant table of snacks for us! She knows her little brothers seem to always be hungry! While there we celebrated the 4th and Everlly’s First birthday! Such fun hanging out with family…
Kids who are “ours” are all grown up now…such a joy to spend time with them!
We were able to speak at the church Autumn and Karl attend.
People’s hearts were stirred by the Lord – which was a beautiful thing to see. We loved it!
After a soft-spoken woman came to me. She said, “I’m 80 years old. This morning I was having my quiet time with the Lord and as it neared the end, He whispered to me, “Now it’s time to care for the children.” She went on to say that she had no idea what that meant until she came to church a couple of hours later and heard us speak!
Oh friends! This only confirms that one is never, ever, ever too old to hear His whispers or to have their heart stirred for the orphan! She was a precious joy!
I loved hearing her say, “This morning I was having my quiet time…” No matter our age, a quiet time with the Lord is essential!! God speaks. He whispers. He moves on hearts! And He loves when we spend time with Him!
Wonderful old friends came from neighboring Durango…orphan lovers, big hearted friends!
And an extra sweet joy was a young woman who came to hug me and explained that she had grown up in an orphanage in Somalia but had come to the US as a refugee. As she shared part of her very painful story, giant tears spilled from her eyes and fell freely. She understands the plight of the orphan. She thanked us profusely for being their voice!!
The sweet man next to her smiled tenderly as she spoke. She then gestured to him and said, “This is my Angel Dad. He was sent from heaven for me.” She later introduced me to her Angel Mom. Precious, precious, precious people.
Oh the memories that we already have as we kick off our “Meet the Miracle Ruby Summer Tour!”
Next stop is Sun Cafe in St. Louis – TODAY – 2:30 pm. I can’t wait to hug your necks!
All are welcome!!
So great to see you guys and hear you speak. All of the kids are getting so big!! That Liberty — what a beauty she has grown in to! We love you guys and can’t wait to see all that the Lord will do on this journey. HUGS
It really was wonderful seeing you guys!! Next time we need to be able to spend some time visiting! I want to hear all about your latest NYC venture!! xo
Linny, got your book on Friday, started reading yesterday…..love it, love learning the details of Ruby’s story that were not posted on the blog.
Looks like the trip is going well. Might be able to meet you when you are int he Georgia area. Gotta see if it works out.
Yes, there is quite a bit of situations that I did not tell about on the blog. Her story was too precious to just ‘throw out’ there…I wanted to process it all ourselves and then pray. God clearly showed me it was time to allow the world to hear of the orphan plight through her story! May God be glorified!
As for Georgia, that would be awesome!! Will pray it works! xo
