Life, Liberty and a Few Winners

Many probably heard the news that Liberty had malaria.  She was very, very sick.  Emma had taken her to the hospital to find out what was wrong.  The doctor gave Emma her cell number and told her to call if she needed her.  Not too often does a doc do that!!

It was hard being so far away knowing she was so very sick.  Malaria can be very serious.  We have held little ones who have been profoundly affected by cerebral malaria.   As I was praying about it all the Lord very clearly whispered, “This is where the rubber hits the road.  You would feel more in control if you were there but I am there.  And I am the healer.  You have to trust me.”

I could tell people were praying as I really had tremendous peace (most of the time).  Faithful God.  Of course Matt Maher’s “Lord I Need You” was (and still is) on repeat almost 24/7 which encouraged my soul.  If you are struggling with anything, look it up on YouTube.  It’s my heart’s cry these days, even without Liberty having malaria.

Friends, we need Him.  We do.  Whether life is seemingly “normal” or your world has turned all topsy-turvy, we need Him!  He is the only true friend and He is always faithful.

The word on the streets is that Liberty is remarkably better!  Praise the name of the Lord!  The doctor told Emma that if they had waited a day to bring her it would have been much harder to treat….  Grateful for the Lord’s whispers to take her in and so thankful for the prayers of you, our friends, around the world.IMG_8914

One of my favorite pictures from China.

I asked folks to guess who was the natural at Kee-Ill-Kai.

Well the master instructor and the judge who came to watch them testing for their yellow belt both came to me independently and said that Isaiah is the guy!  He’s a natural.  He is on the mark!  We are thrilled.

And we have to announce some “lucky” winners of the chicken feet.  Yummm (or something like that).  And three cheers for those willing to try them – you are much braver than I.  But I’ll cheer you on the whole way!

  1. Yes Linny the Lord is always faithful even when we are not. Praise God that Liberty is getting better. It must be terrible being so far away and not being able to be there with her. I’m glad that God is still in the business of doing miracles!! Thank you for praying faithfully for mine. It took almost 40 years but it happened. Luv you and thanks!

    1. Oh Kathy!! I rejoice with tears each time I think of your miracle. He is so faithful. And yes, it was almost unbearable reading her text in the middle of the night that she had malaria and knowing I could not get to her. Thank you for praying. xoxo Love you bunches!!

  2. Great news with Liberty! PTL!! I love that song! For me it is a reminder when I’m “blah” in my walk with the Lotd that I need Him. I know this fact and I sing it as a reminder to draw me out and reignight that spark. 🙂
