On The Home Front

We’ve been passing around a nasty virus for over a week and our couch has become an infirmary.  It lasts about 3-4 days and I’m actually not sure which would be easier (and it’s not like we have a choice).  But which I’d rather have….a few sick at a time and slowly trickling through the pile or having everyone get sick at the same moment and get it over with in a few days?

Two days ago mama went down and you know, mamas just aren’t allowed to get sick.  I’m pretty sure it’s illegal and if it’s not, it ought to be!  Dw wasn’t home and Liberty was at class and it was all I could do to put one foot in front of the other to tend to Ruby’s needs and care for the ones who were already really sick.  And all I know is that it’s been a long nine days.

And in the midst of all the yuk I turned to see this – Birdie tenderly loving on a very sick Nehemiah.  IMG_6663

I can’t help but thank the Lord over and over that my sweet pile are all safe, deeply loved and home forever.   We all have so much to be thankful for, even in the yuk.
