About

I’m Linny and I’m grateful you stopped by our Place Called Simplicity.

Years ago I began writing as a little journal of our big family adventures.  Since I began I’ve brought home 8 treasures, lost our home and everything in it to a devastating fire, dealt with some serious illnesses, had five of our older kids marry and became a Mimi to 19 grandtreasures!

By God’s grace, I am living my dream as I have the privilege of being a mom to 14 treasures, 11 of whom were lovingly gathered from around the world.  I am passionate about special needs and my precious family now includes quadriplegia, multi-loculated hydrocephalus, SIADH, epilepsy, Down syndrome, heart disease, 6 brain surgeries, spina bifida, arthrogryposis, Cerebral Palsy, FAS, cleft lip/cleft palate, two wheelchairs and a rare genetic disorder which makes that treasure of mine  – 1 in 37 million!

In 2015 I had the joy of publishing my first book  Rescuing Ruby and then in 2017 I was able to publish a second one – The Memorial Box (both available on Amazon).

Sincerely living my dream, I guarantee I have never done anything good enough to deserve this joy – the Lord has just been so astoundingly faithful to me.13262237_1704328403149986_1503314488_o

In July 2023 thirteen of our fourteen kids gathered from around the world with their families for a long-anticipated family reunion. We spent five days enjoying each other’s company, playing team games, eating so much yummy food, painting pottery, swimming and laughing lots – all while making beautiful memories that this mama will treasure for the rest of my life.  It was a blast and definitely a dream come true!  Seven were not with us but were definitely missed greatly.

Before the reunion I hired a photographer to capture all of us together.  My grandson, Teddy, went with me as we hunted the desert looking for a place that would accommodate wheelchairs easily, have a sweet view and work well in July in Phoenix!  It was quite a task!  This particular day, if I remember right, it was 116 degrees while we were taking the pictures! Thankfully we lived to tell about it.  Ha!

As I share my journey I long for each person stopping by to be drawn into knowing God deeper, understanding God’s love more and to always see just how astoundingly faithful He truly is.

Ever Grateful for His Lavish Love,

Linny
