Since Dw went to NY I thought it would be really fun to take Liberty and Emma to see Leap Year. Dw and I had seen it last week and loved it! We seldom go to the movies, but this movie? Wow! Such a sweet story – wholesome and tender!! Loved it!
Monday night Graham agreed to watch the four little ones so I could grab the girls and go. I knew that it would be likely for Jubilee to get hysterical since she does not like me leaving….nor does she like Emma leaving….and daddy was already gone!! So as soon as our late dinner was over I got the girls ready for bed and tucked them in – it was only a few minutes after 7….oh well….they’ll just feel that much better in the AM. Then I ran for the door!! =)
When we arrived home 2 hours later Graham said he had gone upstairs about 8:30 and heard talking. He opened their door and found the lights on and the girls playing dolls. Nice. He told them to get into bed and turned out the lights. When I got home they were asleep. But as I leaned to kiss each one, I noticed that Jubilee’s hair was wet. Hmmmm, weird. It also smelled kind of funky.
In the morning I noticed that Jubilee was in her jogging suit. I had put her in a blanket sleeper before leaving for the movie. I then noticed that Jubilee’s hair had something in it. Huh? What was that?
Turns out that Elizabeth had given Jubilee a make-over. She had given her a bath, washed her hair and then fixed it up for her. And what beauty treatments did she use? Ever heard of a deep root treatment with toothpaste? Me neither. Must be something Elizabeth learned in “beauty school.” She then did an entire massage of the head, hair and scalp with an entire can of mousse. Perfect!! Toothpaste and mousse. What a concept.
I asked Elizabeth what they were doing…..she said she was taking care of Jubilee. How splendidly thoughtful. And why was she not in her blanket sleeper? Cause her clothes got wet from her hair treatments. So she needed to change. Of course she did.
Gracious be!! I laughed and laughed. I love being a Mom of Many…..and I am completely lovin’ that I get to daily watch these two little girls, from different continents, cultures, and backgrounds……..bonding, fixing hair, playing dollies, smearing toothpaste and mousse in hair and lovin’ dressing like twins – sisters forever!
God, you are so good to me!!
Don’t you just love how Elizabeth is reaching up
and holding Jubilee’s hand that is around her?
They are oh so sweet together! I love it!
Hugs,
Janet, Kevin, Ted, Philip, and soon to be home Eli (two weeks from today we leave!! Yippee Jesus!!)
Too precious!! Every time I hear one of Elizabeth's stories I am amazed by her tender heart and intelligence. I am sure she will continue to keep you on your toes. Love that the girls are so close!
How simply amazing. Two completely different worlds brought together under one loving roof.
They are delightful together.
What sweet sisters. Jubilee is 8 but how old is Elizabeth?
I am so glad that Elizabeth is there to make Jubilee's transition to her family such a success.
All I can say is that God sure knew what He was doing when He picked YOU to be a Mom of Many!
🙂
Everytime I come here lately I end up crying (in a good way). What a precious, precious post. Two little girls bonding in such a sweet way. How sweet is that that Elizabeth is taking care of her new sister. God is just so good!! Hugs and love
I love these sweet pictures of Jubilee and Elizabeth together. Truly, only God could make little girls from different continents become sisters! 🙂 Love it!
Beauty treatments seem to be a recurring theme with Miss Elizabeth. I love how she is watching over her new big sister. What a blessing.
Oh thank you for sharing this post. I was just laughing in my chair as I read about the 'beauty treatments' then wiping tears at the sweetness of this sisterly love. And I loved Leap Year too!
I love the humor with which you parent! Such a joy those little ones; and to think most people think it's little boys that get up to the most trouble 😉

This post just absolutely warms my heart!
You are THE strongest woman I know. I read your blog daily, just to see how you handle everyday life. You do so with such grace. I try to learn from you. Keep up the great work. I imagine it is more than me who need to be encouraged by your stories.

Oh, Linn…I just love you. 🙂 You are such a good example to us to not get upset over such little things, but to enjoy them! I literally laughed out loud when I got to the toothpaste part. Oh, how I love adoption. Hugs to you!
Love it!!!
Smiling with you! With joy, Lea
Oh so funny! And yes, I do love that last picture!
What sweet sisters! You must be bursting with pride!
My hubby and I went to the movies for the first time in 5 years and saw Leap Year. I couldn't agree more! SO thankful for a clean, funny and romantic comedy. A perfect date movie if I do say so myself!

That is just SO SWEET! So stinkin' sweet … I have tears in my eyes! :o)
oh my…i think i just heard my heart go pitter patter. =)
That last picture is so very sweet! And just yesterday I posted a picture of my two (while from the same country, still from hundreds of miles apart) with much the same thought of "Thank you God for knitting their hearts together as siblings!" Only God!
Oh MY!As I 3 year old I once soaked my puppy in infant cereal and put her in my play oven to dry, I assumed I was bathing her…My 23 year old father, was not so pleased……..Praise the lord for small ones with Big imaginations!
what sweet sisters! It is amazing how fast they have bonded! Praise, GOD!
Hmmm…never tried that combo before….he he he he – GOD MADE SISTERS – ADORABLE!
Precious that is for certain!!! What dolls and what a good mommy to find the joy in all of it!!!
I will be careful from now one when Elizabeth wants to do my hair! wahahah! They are adorable!
How stinkin' adorable is that!!!! Oh Linny, you must be the most fun mom ever!
I needed a good laugh! Ask Miss Elizabeth what I should do to cover my gray hairs.
LOVE the photos of J and E together. Just amazing how quickly God weaves hearts together in a family. Thanks for sharing your sweet (and sometimes messy) moments with us.

I sucked my tea down the wrong tube I was laughing so hard – these two are SO cute and Elizabeth is a mess! One day she'll put all that energy and creativity to good use and in the meantime she will keep your spirits up! I am so happy to hear about Leap Year – my girls are 12-12-1/2 and almost 13 and have outgrown kids movies yet every grownup movie is rated PG-13, which I will not take them to. They also love Amy Adams from Enchanted and Night at the Museum 2 so I think we will go see this!
Do They look Innocent or What?
that was so cute and funny. I could only imagine what they wer thinking the whole time. Swwet sisters!
Love the pictures of the girls. How adorable!!
Oh boy. I can see it their those two kiddos … in their eyes … two peas in a pod or "double trouble" … lol
Linny,
Elizabeth's complete beauty is no secret and she always generously shares. By showing God's Love and Gentleness, Jubilee has a special bond and trust.
As the book "Mrs. Ticklefeather" once said: (you're)…
"a lucky, lucky lady"!
I could look at these happy pictures all day.
Barbara Lyman 🙂
I love it! They are so precious! 🙂 I know they brighten your days! Thanks for sharing and brightening our day as well!
Elizabeth is quite talented…a beautifican and a decorator! This story is too funny…to precious! Who needs language to communicate?
The girls are adorable!! Love the matching outfits!! Elizabeth is quite talented!! Jubilee looks great!!
What a beautiful post! Have you read 'Adopted for Life'? This just made me think of that, and the author's premise that the body of Christ should be treating one another like family, like brothers and sisters, not as a 'religious term' casually tossed around, but truly like bro and sis. Your girls are a beautiful picture of this concept.
