Escape Average….

Do you have a teenager about to graduate from high school who doesn’t know what to do next year? Do you have a young adult that is looking for a change or a challenge? The church we pastor, The River, has an internship program, and this fall we are opening it up to the world.

The name of the program is Escape Average. The title speaks for itself – your young person will be challenged to Escape Average in every area of their life: learning how to purify their hearts, hear God speak, passionately serve others, worship with reckless abandon, physically get into shape, delve into God’s word and become disciplined in all areas of life.

Here is the website: Escape Average

Dw and I would love to welcome your graduate or young adult to our beautiful city and have them be part of the program. And if you’ve never been here….whoooaaa, you will be amazed at how beautiful it is….truly gorgeous – nestled with the backdrop of the Rocky Mountains….

If you have interested in the Escape Average Program…..click on the website, snoop around….there is a video to watch {and yes, Emma’s sweet beau is the Josh on there}. You will also find all the contact information, if you should be interested further….

On a separate note, Dw is doing a sermon series Celebrate Freedom. It is based on one of my favorite verses (Galatians 5:1) which I wrote about here. It is the verse that God used to set me free from so much worry and fear – especially the fear of being alone. Anyway, Dw has asked me to speak for both of our services this coming Sunday. I will be sharing about my past and the abuse. There are so many lives that have been affected by abuse, and the Lord wants to see people set free. I would appreciate your prayers and as always, after, you can hear it on your computer at this place. Click on “Audio” and then click on “Sermon Player”.

Lastly, I’m sorry it’s taking me longer to get to typing out Part 3 of How to Hear God Speak. I have it partially written in my head, now it’s just a matter of sitting down and typing it out. I was also sensing from the Lord that some of you might like me to do a Part 4 about How God Speaks Through Dreams? If you think that might help as well, let me know.

  1. I would love to hear the "dream" one on how God speaks…I just had used part 1 and 2 of How God Speaks from your blog on Sun. evening for a youth gathering at our house, and then on Mon I had an incredible dream…knew it was huge, but couldn't make sense of it. I asked the Lord to interpret and He totally did…He gave a scripture, interpretation, and a word. I was amazed. God is good!

  2. umm, yes, please…post about the dreams too…I just read for the first time the other day about your fire…and that you had the dream…sooooo wondering what you think about how God speaks through dreams…

  3. Linny, Anything and ALL that you post I await each day. God speaks to me, many times through you. Your word is true and good. Thank you for taking me on this journey. I appreciate you.

  4. I would love to read a part 4 how God speaks to us through dreams!! i have been experiencing some of him using my dreams to speak to me lately and it is a challenge for me to figure them out most of the time… some tip and direction would be GREAT!!! He is SO amazing to lay this on your heart as he is on mine as well!!

Btw- look like an awesome program you have thier for young people!!

    <3 <3 your blog!!!!!

  5. Oh I WILL be checking this out! My daughter is a JR. this year, but is unsure what her future holds or which was to go. We have been talking alot about it! Thank you! I think I will give her the link and let her look around too!

  6. Hey Linny! Hope all is well…this post made me think I should share a prayer request with you…I long for my children to Escape Average and I have been praying about homeschooling. Well my hubby isn't really on board yet for several reasons but he has agreed to go to a meeting with our local Christian Home Educators so please pray that if this is God's will for us that he will change my husband's heart with this meeting. Thanks!!!

  7. Can't wait for a part 3, and yes, please do share the part 4 on dreams. I had some puzzling things happening with the dreams part where someone keeps getting them about us being together, but I didn't receive any confirmation or peace from Him… it was confusing and a hard time for me and we ended up not being together. So I'd be interested to know about this part too, it might help give me an insight on what it means 🙂

P.S. thank you for sharing your Chocolate Day with us, no wonder why Isaiah kept wearing the head covering, he and the little ones must've thought it was all novel and amusing that adults and everyone wore them! 🙂

  8. Sooo, how "old" can one be to participate in ESCAPE AVERAGE? Is 47 to old? I'll be graduating from a Maters program in a few years…does that count? (smile)

Got ya covered in prayer for tomorrow!

    Sent ya an e-mail.

    huge hugs,
    Lisa

  9. Linny, I'm praying for you this morning as you share about your past abuse. May you have peace and courage as you speak and may your words bring healing for others who have experienced the same pain.

    Much Love,
    Kathie

  10. What a gifted speaker you are!! Really enjoyed your sermon. Loved how you shared your heart.

I tried to listen to it while my husband was in the background but he fell asleep. May try asking him to listen to it.

Thanks for sharing so much of your private life for the glory of Him.
