Up For a Challenge??

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying,
“Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
Isaiah 6:8

I am soooo excited to announce:

A third missions trip to Uganda is in the works!

Would you like to be Jesus’ hands and feet for a few weeks?

No doubt, you will never, ever, ever, be the same again!!

The dates are {tentatively} and approximately:

January 3 to January 16th, 2011

The team will be working with street children, possibly doing some construction, definitely  ministering to the poor
and always loving on orphans.

Dw and Emma will be leading the team….

Cost:  $1,250 + airfare

{$1,250 covers meals, lodging and transportation inside Uganda}
Lord willing, you will even get to meet my “son”…
For more information or for an application, please email:
 office@iriverchurch.com
In the subject line, please put:
Uganda – January 2011

Yippee Jesus!

I can’t wait to see how God uses the team He is assembling.

  1. I shared your post with our Love Justice team. We have some folks that are trained and love working with Women and Children in crisis. I can think of a few people who would love it if they can work it out.

  2. Hi Linny.

Would love to go, but we've got out sights set on Kenya. We're getting closer!

Hey, tried to comment on Dwight's blog post about hometown hero, but it wouldn't let me so could you give him my comment? It follows below:

I've been thinking a lot about what it means to lose your life so you can find it. I've been meditating on the verse that say we are not our own, but we are bought with a price – the precious blood of Jesus. Nothing is higher than the price He paid. While we were sinners, He died for us.

For me, Afghanistan is just as good a place as any to serve Christ by ministering to needy children. I heard people call Dr. Grams crazy.

Interestingly, on 9-11 scores of firemen, policemen, and rescue workers entered into the burning Twin Towers and gave their lives to try and save people in a hopeless situation. No one called them crazy. On the contrary, they are honored as heroes. Well, Afghanistan is burning. Dr. Gram is a hero.

Thanks for the post, Dwight. Hug Linny for me.

    Lisa

  3. They should take a trip to Jinja & visit me at Amani! I will be there from January 11(the day I land in Uganda) through April 11(the day my plane leaves Uganda) and I would sooooooo love to meet whatever sweet people/members of your family that will be in Uganda at the same time as me! 😀

  4. God has called me to Mali, or i would sooo be going to Uganda with you guys!!!! know i'm praying for each and everyone of the team members though & for those sweet Ugandan people.

  5. That's so exciting! We won't be attending right now, but we are having a little girl from Uganda coming to stay with us while she has heart surgery (through Samaritan's Purse). We're excited to learn about a new culture and share the love of Christ with them.

  6. Okay, I can't go because I'm going to China and then I'm going to China and then… well you get the picture!

So excited for the new group! Wish I could go…

I have a question… You said they could even meet your son?? What do you mean?? Is something in the works? Is there something you haven't told us?? If so, spill the beans, now!!

  7. I'm in. I counted on the trip being in the summer, so I have no clue how I will be able to raise the money, but I will work as hard as I can to get there. And also, a good friend of mine is coming. It's his first missions trip 🙂

  8. Linny, plans are in the works to move Redeemer House to Jinja in December. Will the team be able to spend any time with us there? We would love to see them, and we may even have our land by then and be able to show them where we will be building! And I would love, love, love to meet you! I'm assuming you're coming for the wedding!

  9. Hi Linny,

I would like information about the trip. I'm a bit away from you all, so I don't know how that will work but am prayerfully considering going. I talked to my pastor about it today and sent you an email yesterday. Praying to know God's timing! Thank you.
