The Beauty of Skype….

We spent quite a bit of time Skyping with the kids yesterday.
We just left it open and talked and laughed and the kids were telling us all kinds of stuff.  We kept laughing.  Daddy wasn’t home and they were being pretty crazy.  It was a blast and made my heart hurt for home.
Knowing that one day, Lord willing soon,
we will journey toward home I had an idea.
“Hey Liberty, take the laptop to mommy and daddy’s closet.
Lay it on the floor and let me look at my clothes.
And then I will pick out some things for you to put in a bag waiting to bring to me when we land!”
It worked perfectly.
{I have lost quite a bit of weight – another beauty of fasting – and it would really be a
blessing to have some other things with them when we land.}
And sweet Liberty patiently searched through the things, holding some things up and helping me find others…seriously, it was amazing!
Then she took the laptop to the girl’s closet
and Emma did the same thing.
I took some screen shots of the kids so
I could stare at them long after we hung up.
What a blessing Skype is – for so many reasons!
Oh how I miss all my treasures!
 Lord willing guys – soon!

  1. I LOVE Skype, as we use it with our overseas family, too. On the first picture you posted, I was trying to figure out how you superimposed Ruby Grace with Liberty, Elizabeth, and Jubilee…..then I realized it was a baby doll. 🙂

  2. So exciting…I cannot wait to see the Welcome home pictures!! They will LOVE LOVE LOVE that baby girl! I didn't want to ask but maybe you can disclose…whats going on with Sarah Jane? I miss hearing about that sweet little girl too…

  3. Skype is a wonderful thing. My husband and I just moved to AZ… not such a big deal for us as we've moved often in the past, but this time we were leaving behind my 7 year old niece (just a little heartbreaking). It's been wonderful getting to see her smiling face as she loses teeth and does crazy things with her hair! 😉

  4. Hoping and praying you get to bring those girlies home soon! How much to Ruby weigh now? I'm so curious to see her blossom and grow! God has great plans for her!
I just found out yesterday that some friends of ours are adopting from Uganda!!! They are waiting for CIS approval. I gave her your blog address. YAY!!!!

  5. Gotta love modern technology! love the photos and glad you were able to talk and see the adorable children even though so many miles apart. I can only imagine how you are missing them! Hugs!
