Turning the big 5-0 is turning out not so bad. For the record, I have not really been able to say “fifty” yet. It must be a pride thing – so not to fret – I am working on it. But in the mean time I tell people about my birthday and I just flash my open hand (signifying 5) and make a little zero with my thumb and pointer finger…of course, down deep I am hoping that maybe they think, “hmmm, do we count the thumb, she couldn’t possible be 5-0, it must mean 4-0″….hahaha…
Our “son” Ben (who calls us mom and dad) gave me my favorite card this year….here is it….
Then, of course, I have had several letters requesting me to join AARP! What is up with that? I thought you had to be near retirement??!!? Ummm, dudes and dudettes, for the record, I am only just turned 5-0, and as far as when this homeschooling mama does the Math, retirement at 55 is still five years away….maybe that’s that new-fangled Math I have been hearing about….
But this card that came in the mail addressed to me – it was also a favorite….it was probably prompted by the AARP…it’s wondering if I would be interested in an ASSISTED LIVING HOME??? Sign – me – up!! If they want to assist my life and make it easier – you betcha!!!!
By the way, do you think they have units for families with 10 children??
Just imagine the fun that awaits all of us!!! Pack your bags kids – we’re heading HOME!!
You crack me up. That is so funny!!
Ok that is really, really funny. I don’t think the big 5-0 is very “old” at all. 50 is the new 30, momma! Wear it well:)
First of all I love the Boogers card, we have bought that for someone before.
Now, I’m only 34 but do you think I could get a room at the assisted living place too? Does it come with a maid and a chef? I could bring home lots of kids (if I had the money) if all I had to do was take care of the kiddos and love on them =).
