My Birthday Presents

One of the best parts of the Birthday Bash were the gifts my friends gave me. I had politely requested “no gifts”…but asked if instead could people please, please, please bring gifts for the little ones of the orphanage where Elijah and Elizabeth live and for the street kids we will meet on the street in Uganda? Most don’t have shoes – so I was praying that we would get a sweet bunch! Here are the pictures of some of the things people donated! Our friends so totally rock! The stuff is already packed in a suitcase and will be heading to Africa with me on Monday – Yippee Jesus!!

  1. That’s so great!! I can’t believe you leave on Monday!! I REALLY REALLY hope you are able to blog while you are there. I will be so sad if you can’t! 🙁 How will we all survive??

  2. Those are the most beautiful birthday presents I have ever seen! AND, I second Lori, you must go to the ends of Africa to make sure you can give us some blog posts. I don’t want to hear any excuses about how the kids are in your arms, or you are jetlagged, NOTHING…put the kids in front of you, take a picture of them, and blog baby blog, because we just love you all too much to wait 3 WHOLE weeks to find out what is going on! Love you!

  3. That is so awesome! What better gifts could you have ask for? Your birthday party looked totally awesome too too bad those of us addicted to your blog couldn’t have come.

I am so excited you are leaving in a couple days! I too will go crazy if you can’t blog. I am also hoping you will bring back lots and lots of pictures of other kids that need homes so Rett and I can drive our husbands crazy telling them we need to bring back one or more each.

I can’t wait to see those precious children in your arms.

  4. I cannot believe this is all happening so soon!

I have cried tears of joy while reading your story (the one God is still writing) and am in awe that there will be pictures of you with those precious little ones so SOON!

    Still praying!

(oh, and I prayed for Gracie on Monday morning… I hadn’t eaten for nearly 24 hours, but that was kind of unintentional… I was hungry and I prayed, is that accidental fasting? haha)
