Happy Mother’s Day

White daisies (my personal favorite) for you, my sweet bloggy friends to celebrate this wonderful day!!
Happy Mother’s Day to all who have the privilege of being a mom whether through adoption or birth or marriage.
Happy Mother’s Day to all birth moms who have courageously chosen to adopt their precious little one out to someone else.
Happy Mother’s Day to those who long for a child – remember the promises – “He will give you the desires of your heart.” Your day is coming!!
Happy Mother’s Day to my mom – I love you so very much and am so thankful that you are my mom.
Happy Mother’s Day to my mom-in-law – you raised my best friend to be the most Godly man I have ever met (and I get to be married to him) – thank you – you are such a blessing to me.
To those who have already lost their mom, I pray that you continue to be ministered to as you grieve your loss.
And to my cherubs – the ones who have allowed me the privilege of being called “Mom” – you are my treasures and I love you beyond measure: Abigail and Ryan, Tyler, Autumn, Emma, Graham, Liberty, Isaiah, Elizabeth, Elijah and soon Jubilee. And thank you Lord for the privilege of carrying Timothy, Megan, Andrea and John – I am so thankful that now you carry them safe in your arms.
For the record, truly, Mother’s Day is my very favoritest holiday. I find no greater joy than to be called “mom”. On my first Mother’s Day, in 1983, I started a tradition. I made clothes so that we could match on Mother’s Day. It started as just the girls and I. Then it moved to include ties for the boys that matched the our dresses/skirts. After 20 years of matching, we moved to matching tee-shirts with our family “logo” on it for all of us. With the events of the last few months laying in bed the other day, I realized I had not done anything to carry the tradition this year. My heart was incredibly sad.
On a whim Liberty suggested we head to Farmington that same day. I prayed, “Oh Lord, please provide matching things for us.” We were able to find dresses that matched for Liberty, Autumn, Emma and I. We found shirts in the color theme for Dw and Graham, a dress that is adorable for Elizabeth in the color theme and I hacked up (literally) a man’s tie and hand sewed two little boy ties late last night for Elijah and Isaiah. (Sure do miss my sewing machine.)
I am so thankful that we “match” one more time. How thankful my heart is. May your day be blessed as you cherish this incredible privilege. xo

I am thankful for the Lord’s provision, once again, to make me feel kind of like the tradition continues. How I praise Him for continuing to fulfill His promises in my life – “He makes the barren woman to be at home, the joyful mother of children”.
