What A Day…

Dw is home and resting.  As soon as we walked in the door, my mom said that she needed to go see the doctor at the hospital.   She has had to be catheritized {sp?} since the surgery and her bladder was not cooperating today.  At.All.  So back to take care of that.
Whew.
What a day.
I twittered some, I wrote some on Facebook and eventually I posted on the blog.
Thank you to all who have prayed.  My sweet hubby, is one sore daddy.
The doctor actually was concerned that the xrays looked
almost like there could be a fracture in his neck, but later decided not.
Thank you Jesus!
The multiple impacts tossed him around {he was wearing a seatbelt}…the road construction man said that as he watched the truck roll up the cement embankment and kind of tilt on its side {and bounce around some more}, the guy was amazed that it didn’t flip over.  The guy really thought it was going to.  Another huge miracle!
It has always amazed me how one split second can change a life.  It is so weird, isn’t it?
Yesterday had been a powerful day at the River Church.  It was also a powerful time as I shared in Pagosa Springs.  No doubt, the enemy is ticked!!  I don’t often talk about the enemy and his tactics, but I strongly believe that he, indeed, “comes to steal, kill and destroy”…..and when God’s children challenge the status quo, speak passionately on behalf of the orphan and are relentless to make a difference, the enemy wants to ruin their day.  He wants to to discourage, to torment with fear and to harm…so thankful we serve the mighty God of the Universe – – – who is far more powerful in every way!!!
Dw has loved hearing all your comments…they have warmed his heart and made this already-weepy-just-had-a-serious-car-accident-feeling-physically-beat-to-snot-and-ruined-the-truck-he-loves-so-much-guy even more weepy…so thank you for each and every one!!
Daddy and Grandma are resting here at home and we are thankful for God’s constant care and as always, for all you bloggy friends who love us so much…xo

  1. I am so sorry to hear about the accident, but so relieved that Dw is OK!! Praying for you all, and wishing you a truly happy Thanksgiving!

    All the best,
    Nicole A., now in LA

  2. So glad to read your newest update about DW's accident. Praising God DW is still here to tell about it! Will lift him and your mom up in prayer as they continue to heal.

We were in a pretty serious accident last year in the fall, and it took until the spring for my neck injury to show up. Just keep a look out for it if it should show up later. I went through physical therapy last summer for it and still feel the effects of it at times. I was sitting in the back seat with our Philip. He, of course, was strapped into his car seat, and he didn't have any injuries. Still praising God for that one, and still praising God that we were able to go bring home our Elijah after that!

    Love to you all,
    Janet and gang

  3. Oh my dear friends- today was quite a day. I am so sorry for all that has happened.Thankful that everyone is home and okay.

I can bet the Dw is very shaken and hurting all over. That is quite the ordeal to have gone through.

Keeping you all in our prayers.

  4. just so thankful that your husband is safe & that you have each other to celebrate Thanksgiving! yes, 1 second can change a life forever. we were hit from behind while stopped at an intersection by a drunk driver on my husband's birthday and our 17 month old son was killed…so many lives forever changed. But God is faithful! And He does not allow us to go through deep waters without giving us His strength to survive them. I often times think that we live under the illusion that we are in control of so much of our lives, but the reality is, but by the grace of God go I. Cherishing everyday with my kiddos, and knowing life will seem all the sweeter this Thanksgiving for you all. Blessings & prayers for DW & your mother's healing. And prayers for Jesus to protect your family and all of us who are serving Him from the attacks of the enemy.

  5. A hurrah from me when I saw this post that your hubby is home and doing ok but sore. Praise the Lord for his protection!
My father-in-law and his bro in law were in an accident last week when truck they were driving hit an elk. They didn't get hurt but their trip was lengthened to get the truck fixed and go back home to PA from further west.Uncle did get an elk the conventional way as well! It's worth the prayers that we pray faithfully for our family members and dear friends. Hugs to all!

  6. What just came to me as I finished reading was

BLESS THE LORD O MY SOUL, AND ALL THAT IS WITHIN MY BLESS HIS HOLY NAME

It's so encouraging to see you seeing God's goodness in everysituation, thank you for still posting and pushing forward when many of us would be retreating and hibernating just til we got a bit back together! He is good! x If we praise Him then there is no room to complai…n

  7. You know i was talking to Peter when you posted about the accident and the first thing I said was DW must have done something to tick of The Evil one! You both have been obvious targets more than once.
Thank The heavens our God is bigger and better and always has you in His hands.
So relieved to hear DW is home recovering. All I could pray last night was that, DW has got to be OK, I have to meet the both of you! I want one day to have to make enough pies for your whole boatload.

and so glad your mom is home too.

    Stay strong!!

  8. I read your post last night of DW's accident and gasped aloud. That, followed by fervent prayers for his healing, God's sustaining hand on you, Linny, and great wisdom and discernment for all the doctors attending to his injuries. I will continue to pray that DW and you feel the Holy Spirit renewing you for this day, mending mind, heart and body and infilling you with an extra measure of sustenance. Your description of why he even pulled the car's wheel away from that oncoming car he thought was filled with children…oh, mercy. Bless you ALL. May God's peace and grace literally fill each second of this day to come for you.

  9. Oh my goodness gracious… what a BLESSING to hear he is okay!! I can't imagine what a frightening few days it's been Linny… praying for continued healing and praising HIM for caring for your wonderful DW 🙂

  10. Still praying!! Praise God that he is okay! We learned how to say "Praise God" in Swahili at church a few weeks ago– "Bwana asifiwe" (pronouced b-wanna ahh-see-fee-way).. So Bwana Asifiwe in this situation!!! Praising God for his covering over your family and praying for you all!

  11. So thankful that DW is OK. Just checked in and I will pray today… FULL RECOVERY for both DW and your Momma. You are both so precious. I don't even "know" you but my heart is connected in ways that I cannot explain. That is the kind of God we serve. He has our reins.

    Much love to you!

  12. Nurse Linny,
Sounds like you are busy taking care of your precious family. Tho, we don't know each other personally, I want you to know that I went from FB to Blog to your tweets yesterday to keep up with how things are going in your family…..lots and lots of praying for you also. So happy all is going well! Big hugs!

  13. the enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy but Christ came to give us life, ABUNDANT Life. Praying for His Abundant life filled with POWER, Healing and FAVOR over your family in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus.
What the enemy meant for harm our Great God uses for good as only He can do.
So many are covering your family in prayer. There are many angels surrounding you.

  14. Thanks be to our Lord in Heaven Who heard the unceasing prayers and praise for DW and your whole family, Linny!!! He is our Deliverer!!! Yesterday was one for the history books!! My father fell down a steep flight of stairs and broke almost every bone in his body, punctured his lung, crushed his liver and right kidney, internal bleeding…airlifted in a blizzard to a hospital in Boise, was placed on life support and got thru a surgery…i really don't know how they flew in those conditions. My poor sweet brother sat on the tarmac in Seattle for 3 1/2+ hours trying to reach my dad…he never got off the ground and was stuck at the airport until today….i love it when we tick off the enemy….shows we are doing what we are suppose to do (i will say, enough already though!)! If you could, please pray for my father…he is, by no means, out of the woods yet. Dr's don't give much hope of recovery w/so many injuries…but they haven't seen our God move mountains! So glad DW is beginning to heal…so excited to see what kind of new love truck the Lord will bring him!You know it will be grand!!! Praying for your mom that all will heal well as soon as possible! Praying for you to have added strength and refreshment… so glad your sense of humor has not dimmed one bit! The hedge of protection around you and your family is great…Colorado got to see it up close and personal during DW's spectacular almost flipped over crash! Oh how the Lord is going to use this for His glory in the days ahead! Thank you Lord for Your sweet protection over this family! DW…we are so thankful for you and that you are resting at home with the best nurse ever! Praying for all of you unceasingly!! love you!

  15. I have been behind keeping up with many things since our trip to meet our boys in Bulgaria and I'm sorry to have missed this news and the chance to say some prayers for quick healing. But, today I'm saying some prayers of thanks for your family that the injuries in this accident were not any worse then they were and that He was watching out for DW. Happy Thanksgiving to your sweet family! God bless, Jennifer
