As some of you may remember, little miss Ruby
was learning to raise herself up on her elbows while on her tummy.
She would roll and prop herself up on and we would
clap and squeal and celebrate every single time!
Then one day she just stopped.
We weren’t sure what was going on.
We tried to get her to roll again.
There was no interest, only sad complaints.
We prayed to figure out why
and the only thing we knew was that
Ruby had had some seizures and we wondered if
her head no longer felt good when she did it.
We were grieved.
It was such a set back in so many ways.
Our hearts ached!
If she’d never done it,
we wouldn’t have known how good it felt to watch –
but she had been doing it many, many times a day
for over a year!
Months passed and although she
made many, many strides in so many areas,
she would not roll or raise herself up
on her elbows.
Of course, we pray all the time for her healing
and we trust that the Lord is working on her behalf,
but we wanted to see her rolling and raising up again.
And a few days ago,
seemingly quite out of the blue,
Our Miracle Miss rolled over
and
propped herself up and looked
at me with a little grin, as if to say,
“Hey Mommy! Whatcha doing?”
And the squealing and clapping and cheering
and celebrating each time began anew as
we praised the Lord for this beautiful victory!!
That marked the beginning of her doing it again daily!
And so yesterday Hope Kids had a luau
and Ruby was so excited as we talked about it’s approach.
In fact, Ruby was signing“friends” all day…
and of course I was assuring her that her friends
would be there too…
And this is how the Little Miss Miracle
was as her friends would come by to say “hello”
and visit for a bit…
Check out Ruby’s little smirk as she visits with her friends,
Kaia {l} and Kailee {r}.
No doubt,
she is “pleased as punch” that her friends come over to visit.
Jubilee had great fun with friends,
Kailee, Natalie and Kaia!
The boys did too, but no pictures of them – they were moving too fast…
We had so much fun we closed the place down….
enjoying our time with precious friends,
like Audre,
bloggy friend turned real friend and also a Hope Kids mom…
{How cool is that?}
So very blessed in every way –
rejoice with us at the Lord’s good works in
Ruby’s life!
Ruby’s life!
Let them praise the LORD for his great love and
for the wonderful things he has done for them.
Psalm 107:31
We are rejoicing friend! Wonderful news!
Seriously friend – so concerning to us – and suddenly, after a year of not lifting up – she's at it in a big way!! Only the Lord!
You can see God's fingerprints all over Ruby! He is AMAZING!
I tell everyone her story if they even pause briefly to admire her – such a story of God's love for the orphan!
How very cool!
I wonder if it was a day perhaps not quite 2 weeks ago when God reminded me to pray for Ruby's progress again? I should write these things down. But at any rate, it was God who did it! So Thanks be to Him!

Erica – I need your mailing addy so I can send your Perpetua DVD – such an amazing story!
Go Ruby !!!!! Our daughter whom is similar to Ruby in many ways lost so much when she had a big seizure 6 years ago. She is slowly gaining in areas that were lost, but still not where she was previously. Ruby and our Falisha have overcame so many obstacles and surprised doctors who said No, she would never …………. God is powerful and nothing is impossible with him.
So very happy to hear such exciting news. Praise be thank you Lord
Sweet to see :). God is amazing!
I wonder if Ruby stopped for a time because she was progressing in so many other areas. My baby's talking stopped while she learned to walk and run and use her fingers better. Now that she's mastered those skills, she's back to learning to speak. The early intervention teacher said it's quite normal. Whatever the reason, I'm glad Ruby is back to her old tricks!
