Our Closet

Dw’s in Africa for a couple of weeks and the kids and I are holding down the fort.  He banned me from painting {such a party-pooper} so instead I’ve been doing another project idea I had.  *smile*  Boy-oh-boy-oh-boy will he ever be surprised.

Graham and Savannah stopped over today and the kids couldn’t wait to show Graham {especially} what we have been doing.  Graham saw it and turned to me and said, “Ummm, does Dad know you’re doing this?”   Still giggling at Graham’s expression.  I love surprises.

Anyway, but I thought you guys would enjoy the pictures I just took.

So Ruby and I were going to do something and I was taking her wheelchair into our bedroom and closet with me and as I approached the closet door I strained my eyes.  What in the world??

Here’s what I found:

In all my years I have never seen anything like it.  I had clothes hanging on the hangers, like Dw’s shirts and my dresses/skirts, but not tons.  I had a few baskets on top of the shelf with Ruby’s winter clothes in.  I had another basket as well and a few little boxes.  (The big ol’ box was not on the shelves.)

Really glad that I wasn’t no one was in the closet or I probably would have had an accident.  Oh, that’s right, I forgot, I had surgery for that.  Whew.  Still glad I wasn’t in the closet.

Have you ever had this happen??

Then I’m also wondering…wouldn’t the Boss want me to paint, I mean, look at the walls…I could make them look so pretty before he comes back and has to put all this stuff up??  Like lime green or something.  Kidding, kidding.

I’d say it’s pretty safe to say I will not be wearing a dress to church tomorrow.

    1. I bet it did!! I was thankful that my guess is it happened for a short while when we were out. Sadly, I had some Memorial Boxes that I was going to sell for JonWesley’s adoption and one broke. It was the coolest one! Made my heart so sad. If I can find the part that broke {it disappeared, but then again I haven’t dug out of the mess yet} I will see if I can glue it…and I will let whoever might by that it was lovingly repaired. It seriously is the coolest one I have ever seen. Bar none. So bummed.

  1. Could it be that God miraculously cleared your closet so that you could create your own war room? I’d call that a prompt from the Lord!

    1. That’s exactly what I thought when I saw it. Come on. This is a really nicely built home…and it’s never before happened…and there wasn’t anything that weighty on it…so I’m going with that idea!! Wait till the bossman comes home. 😉

  2. This just happened to my parents last month. Crazy! THRY got a better hanging system All is good now.
I think lime green would be amazing! 🙂

  3. Totally happened here too!! Scared me to death and OH the mess! But such good things come from these life crashes, don’t they? My husband made a custom built closet after ours bit the dust! Thank you, Lord!! Such a spiritual metaphor!

    1. It was crazy…I was baffled….this is a super solid house…and there wasn’t that much on the shelf..not compared to some shelves we’ve had!! So I really think the Lord was beginning the steps to make it our War Room. Have you seen the movie?? If not, you MUST!! It makes you want to run home and get a War Room ready. I took my kids to see it. They are ready!!
