She’s here. She’s not too fond of me. She’s not sure about Liberty, but thinks she might be cooler than mom. {Which, of course, Liberty is definitely cooler than mom!}
When Pearly Bonnie came through the door they said something to her in Chinese, she took one look toward us and turned 180 degrees around and started walking.
I’m thinking she was thinking, “Ummm, I didn’t sign up for this. They look really weird. I’m outta here.”
The red sucker helped.
She didn’t want to leave with us when we had to go, but settled eventually.
We got back to the room and I got out the Danish Butter cookies. That peaked her interest. And over the next little while she slowly ate the entire box!!
It’s all good.
Feeding her helps her trust us. Slowly, second by second she will learn that we are safe and on her side!
She’s a dolly. I’m completely smitten.
And now she is playing contentedly with crayons in the empty ^^ box above.
Next thing on the agenda this afternoon after I finish mounds of paperwork?
Go to Walmart and buy three cases of Danish Butter cookies.
That should last us through tomorrow.
Hey, don’t judge. Whatever works.
She is perfect! Red suckers and Danish butter cookies…excellent choices. Lol I’m thrilled for all of you. Congratulations Linny.
Whew!! I was so concerned as to what she might like – totally God-led!! And those Danish Butter cookies tout that they are 100% pure butter, no artificial anything…so hey, that’s a winwin as far as cookies go!!
She is BEAUTIFUL! So exciting you finally got your girl and boy. Praying she is not too overwhelmed or frightened on the journey home.
Thank you Jan!! So appreciate the prayers!!
What a beauty! It’s good that she has such a healthy appetite! I’m sure it won’t take long to win her over.
Isn’t she just a dolly?? Really!! And last night she started to warm up, after I fed her dinner.
How precious! I totally understand the “whatever works” concept! I absolutely love the picture of you gazing at her with the cookies. It made me tear up! Simply gorgeous! So good to see both of your children with you. Praise Jesus! Praying for the rest of your journey. (Ps. Tell Liberty that she has a gorgeous smile).
Blessings,
Laurie Kjernald
Thank you Laurie!! Yes, “Whatever works” is all that has ever worked for us!! I will tell Liberty!! I think it’s her heart for Jesus that shines through!!
I’m dancing and laughing and crying!!! Not bad for an introvert! So excited you got her – you guys are perfect together…and so much of Daddys amazing goodness in all of this, WOW! WOW! WOW!
Dancing and laughing and crying – perfect!! Nothing like knowing the Lord did all this!! He is so faithful!! Can’t wait to hug your neck and thank you!!
Ahh! That first photo brought me almost to tears! So happy for you, and her too!
Talking to R again today…..!
I just want to add, her little hands are so beautiful!
Aren’t they precious?? Continuing to pray for your heart’s desire to be made reality!!
Thank you, Linny. Makes me feel good to know I have such prayer warriors! We’re having “The Talk” again tomorrow (Weds) at 1:30 EST! Not sure if he knows what we’ll be talking about, but this time it’s no holds barred. 😀
She is PERFECT!!!! And I love Vernon’s smile in that first picture!!! So thrilled for you all!!!!
My heart sings knowing you have her!!!!

Thank you for your sweet words friend!! They mean so much! Isn’t she just darling? So much tinier than I pictured from the pictures!! She’s bite sized.
So thrilled for you. Both of these children are so precious. Love you guys!
Thank you Chrisann!! We are over-the-moon!! And that Vern? I would take a dozen more like him. He’s the best!!
Wow! Praying for you, Liberty, Vernon, and Miss. Pearly. Love, prayers and blessings from Mozambique!
Love, Love, Love that prayers are coming from Mozambique!!
What a sweetie pie!! Congratulations! I also absolutely loved Vernon’s smile on his adoption day!!
His smile just doesn’t quit. There 9 families that are here with our agency in Pearl’s province and the ones who have spent time with us? They are smitten with Vernon. Totally the best guy!!
Precious Pearly is a girl after my own heart with those Danish Butter Cookies! And I love sweet Vernon’s smile and the way he’s leaning down to be so close to his beautiful forever family!! So, so happy for you all!!! Miss Pearl is beautiful and I have no doubt she’ll soon realize her momma is THE coolest! 😉 Praying for smooth travels and easy transitions for all! Hugs!
Vern was so thrilled that he was getting a mei-mei here in China !! He fits perfectly, like I’ve always had him. And little Miss Pearl warmed up a bit and even let me rock her to sleep {huge!}. Thank you for praying – we need it!! Today is a journey to get her passport. 3.5 hours each way…
Linny, she is beautiful and is she wants cookies, I would feed her cookies. Whatever it takes. God is so good….His love endures. She is a beautiful gift. Congratulations!
My friend was running to the store tonight and getting a tin for me! ha! Isn’t she beautiful?? I am overjoyed!
Adorable! I love the absorption on her little face as she experiences the cookies.
Isn’t she just darling??
Congratulations! How old is Pearl? And whatever works is what I’ve had to learn through 3 adoptions. Let Daddy be the bad guy and feed her vegetables! You just keep the cookies coming! Daddies always seem to have an unfair advantage winning over little girls! 🙂
She was born on September 6, 2012…just about 3.5 years old. And I agree, daddy’s definitely have an unfair advantage with little girls. So.Not.Fair. haha!!
