Heading Home!

I promised one last post from China…how could I resist sharing the cuteness knowing you won’t see any for over 30 hours?  If you are really anxious to see pictures of them and struggling through the 30 hours, I’m pretty sure ice cream will help.

I found our Pearly Bonnie playing with her baby yesterday.  She had her swaddled in her jammie bottoms…loving on her…snuggling her…

Pretty sure she’s whispering to her, “Oh baby, are you okay?  Crazy white lady has us both, right? I’m with you forever.”

And then she noticed me snapping pictures….and look at what she did!!  She loves me, she really does.  We’ve been having a blast!!

And Mommy couldn’t resist tackling her and tickling her….

IMG_7766And when I turned to Vern, you know how I found him?

Smiling.  Of course.

This son is something else, I can’t believe he’s ours.

IMG_7760Pray us home!!  Flights, some dashing-type layovers….and with wheelchairs dashing is not really part of the scenario, cause we have to de-board last.  Of course we do.

  1. Little Pearl is just the cutest! So sweet how she is loving her baby. And that boy! He looks so happy. Can’t wait to see the big reunion when you make it home!

  2. Praying for y’all! Can’t wait to see pics of the airport celebration!!! Can’t quit smiling just thinking about all that joy bursting forth! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

  3. I have so enjoyed the pictures and am so happy for you. Will be praying for you all as you travel home. I know how hard it can be!

  4. I was so excited to open the link and see Pearl full on SMILING! What a joy these two are! I can’t wait to meet them in person!

  5. Praying you home, Linny. Safe flights and God’s hand on every little detail!! (It really is the details…I will always remember the kind flight attendant who brought me chamomile tea and A TOOTHBRUSH! during one of our nine-hour flights when we were traveling to get our Gems and morning sickness + turbulence was making me hurk up my toenails…) I know you can’t wait to get your newest Gems home under your own roof with the rest of your family. The trip is grueling but what joy at the end!! I can’t be there at the airport in person but I will jump up and down here in my living room in Florida, ok? 🙂

  6. Of course he is smiling – he is a Sanders!! And Pearl… oh my gosh, what a little darling!!

Have to admit I’m a little bummed… I’ve driven to Palm Springs the last few years for Spring Break with my kids and that would have put us pretty close to your airport for your arrival home…. except we’re staying put this year. 🙁 Would have LOVED to have been part of the cheering crowd for Mr. Smiley!

  7. They are both so precious!! What an amazing family! I have enjoyed your blog for many years and am having health issues. If you see this comment please let me know if it was muscle issues that caused you to go gluten free. I just remembered a few days ago that you previously had a difficult time functioning and went gluten free. Thanks! Jennifer

    1. Hi Jennifer!! I have several auto-immune disorders and after researching I found that there is a strong link between the two. I went off and within TWO days I felt better. I couldn’t believe it. The difference was astounding. I gave away everything wheat/gluten related my pantry and never looked back. I don’t cheat at all, and I feel incredibly better. Some of my auto-immune disorders affect my muscles, and yes, they are better. The brain fog is something that also is almost non-existent. I pray you can find answers, but I would definitely get off gluten!! Be strict about it. I have no idea how long it takes for most to notice a difference, but I didn’t think I would notice that fast. So give yourself a month…but don’t cheat!! There are so many alternatives on the market now, even in just the 2.5 years I have been GF. Keep me posted. My email: APlaceCalledSimplicity@yahoo.com

  8. What a precious little Pearl, loving and snuggling her baby. She has been loved on and cared for while waiting for y’all, it’s evident. 🙂 Vern probably still can’t believe he is awake and not dreaming. He looks so happy to be part of a forever family. Boy is he in for some FUN days with your crew once home. Be safe. Prayers as you finish your travels and settle into life.
