Isaiah – Surgery

Yesterday I drove to Greeley with Isaiah and we saw Dr. Hatch. He is really, truly, one of most compassionate, gentle, and kind doctors I have ever met. He is so easy talk to. His staff is exceptionally kind.
Dr. Hatch has decided not to do Isaiah’s surgery but instead has made an appointment for him to go to Iowa City to be seen by Dr. Ponsetti’s protege. We will be driving 1200 miles after church on Sunday, thru the night to our appointment Monday morning. Surgery is tentatively scheduled for Tuesday.
Truthfully, I have never had any of my kids have to have surgery. Dw and myself have had several surgeries since we have been married…..some very serious (like Dw’s heart surgery), but this event is unchartered water for us.
Abi and Ryan arrived in the middle night, not long after I got home from Greeley. The house is happily crowded and crazy. Ryan’s family has been hanging out with us today. Lots of laughs and lots of food and lots of fun.
The wedding is Friday in the early evening. Saturday Dw’s administrative assistant is getting married and Abi is the photographer for her. Sunday we are off to Iowa.

  1. Linny, you're going to be very busy. Our C has surgery when she was 14 months old. I was a nervous wreck by the time it was all over. To top it off, they kept her in recovery longer than normal because she was sleeping so peacefully and the nurses said was just so cute. She recovered well as did hubby and I. I'll be praying it all goes well. Hugs and love

  2. I just adore how affectionate all of your kids seem. In almost every photo, they are all lovin' on each other. That truly warms my heart. Please tell me when they were little (like 6, 4, and 2, my kids ages) they were not that way. I pray my babies grow up lovin on each other like your bunch. Too sweet!

Your sweet Isaiah will be in my prayers! Mommy and daddy, too!

  3. Random observation: Tyler looks like such an adoring big brother!

Hehe, you said "He is really, truly, one of most compassionate doctors I have never met". But I knew you meant ever. 😉

I will be praying for little Isaiah, you, Dw, and the family as you face this surgery on Tuesday. You can handle it! You guys have overcome so much. It's simply amazing. However, I've had 10 surgeries and I'm newly 17, so I know your fears.

Can't wait to see the wedding pictures!

  4. Praying for safe travel!! For a surgery that will go well, and help in the healing process!!! You are going to my home state. We have had experience with that hospital- it is where I was treated for cancer as a child, and one of our children had a surgery for hernia there too.

  5. Oh my goodness, what an incredibly busy schedule for you all! I will be praying for you. We used to live near Iowa City. It's a nice town. Praying for peace, safe travel, and a good outcome for sweet Isaiah's surgery. Wish I lived close enough to Iowa City to come and sit with you, sweet friend.

  6. I will be praying. Have you talked to Stef? She loves Dr. P!!!

My heart smiles at how full your heart must be with all your dear ones home. I wish I was there to see your great big ol goofy smile in person.

Got your message, and am praying. not going to send you one back given the full schedule you have, but know that you are in my thoughts and you are ALL in my prayers.

    love you girl!

    hugs!

  7. Oh sweet, sweet friend, you have so very much going on . . . and now you are headed to Iowa City, after the wedding. (Not that I needed to tell you that). I've been keeping up with you. I can't begin to tell you how much you have been on my heart.

Rejoicing with you that Ty is home, and getting married!!!! What a precious daughter-in-love you are about to gain!

Praying for your beautiful Autumn. Please bring healing Lord.

Praying for your sweet, strong, brave, joyful Isaiah, as he faces surgery. Praying for his dear mama and daddy as they face it with him. . . . Linn and Dwight, may the Lord give you strength and His peace. Father, we ask for a Your hand to be upon Isaiah even now. Lord, we thank you for making the way for this surgery, and we ask for healing for Isaiah. I ask Lord for results from this surgery that will amaze even the surgeons–We know You are Able Lord. Oh Father thank you for the gift of precious, smiling Isaiah! In Jesus name, Amen!

Praising the Lord for bringing all of your babies home (except for sweet Jubilee). Love, love, lovin' all of the pictures! Praying that your precious moments together will be blessed richly by our Heavenly Father.

    Love you dear friend!

    Hugs from Texas~

  9. I love the pictures. I've noticed before that Tyler and Emma seem have a special bond. My Cameron and Hannah have the same kind of special friendship. It's nice to see how much she loves her big brother.

I love how you go with the flow. Impromptu wedding? No problem. Drive 1200 miles following the wedding? No problem.

    Have a blessed weekend!

  10. Hi, I am new to your blog, and just wanted to say first that your blog is so encouraging and I can just feel all the love you have in your family jumping off the internet!
Secondly, I live in Iowa City! I can assure you that the University of Iowa Hospital is an amazing hospital. I JUST had my baby girl there, and the staff was just amazing. People here in Iowa City are all very kind hearted, as you will see.
I will be praying for a safe trip and for the hospital stay. Please let me know if you need anything!!! The city is very small, and easy to get around, but I would be happy to bring you guys anything to make your stay less stressful!

  11. What a crazy schedule. I can't wait to see wedding pictures!!! Remember Graham had his appendix out and everything was fine!!! Sierra has to have minor surgery in the fall and I am petrified of the anaestesia(not right spelling) I will be praying for youall!!!

  12. What a full weekend! Congrats to Tyler and I agree with the above posters, your family is truly special. I really hope that when my kids get older they have the bond that yours do. You ALL inspire me.

    Praying for little Isaiah.

  13. I've come to realize that it doesn't ever really slow down for you guys lately, does it? We'll be praying, of course, for everything. Let us know if we can help in ANY way!

  14. With the love, laughter, and "craziness" you can see the love and peace from God in your family. That same peace and security will be with you on Tuesday.
Dr. Hatch is following the Chief Physician's order's by sending you to Iowa. God alone will be guiding the medical team and be gently holding Isaiah.
For your many joys, for your may prayers of thanksgiving, the prayers of concerns, and needs, I will pray with you in Jesus name because He said we could. Amen
