4th of July Miracles!!!

Yippee Jesus!! Yesterday I twittered that Dw’s numbers were down. I just spoke to him on the phone: His numbers are down, again!!! It is a MIRACLE!!!

There is no doubt in our minds that the prayers of God’s people are being heard!!!! I know many of you have fasted, are praying, activated prayer chains, twittered, blogged, emailed, etc., and are interceding on Dw’s behalf- – – – thank you, thank you, thank you!! The numbers coming down is a miracle – and so quickly – yet another miracle!!

On Tuesday and Wednesday Dw was so sick that I had to fight fear. I am not usually one given easily to fear, but there is no doubt that it would have been easy to be overcome with it. We need our livers and we need them healthy and he was sooooo sick!!

This is the power of prayer sweet friends!! I don’t know what it is about prayer…..there are so many things that remain a mystery spiritually….but this is clear: When God’s people gather and pray – He moves! I personally think He just absolutely loves having his children kneeling together with a common heart for another one of His kids….

In this case you have been coming together on my husband’s behalf and I cannot ever thank you enough. I wish each of you could spend time with him (when he is up to par) and see what a tender-hearted, loving and Godly man he is. You would just absolutely love him!!

Through the power of your prayers (and prayers of many others) we are seeing our Miracle-working, Mountain-moving, Awe-inspiring, Gasp-giving God move on Dw’s behalf!!

The rumor in the hospital is that they are going to release him today (no docs in yet) and if that is the case we may head in the direction of home. We are planning on taking a few days as he can tolerate the travel.

Here are some specific prayer requests:

1. Wisdom for the doctors if they really should release him today.

2. His numbers to continue to come down and his liver would be completely healed. There is a chance that the numbers could spike again, so please pray against that notion.

3. When to leave for home & where to stop along the way.

4. That Dw would be able to tolerate enough water to not get dehydrated again. We are returning home to an altitude of about 7,000 feet above sea level – he needs to be drinking lots of water (and keeping it down).

5. Safety as we drive toward home this holiday week-end.

6. Isaiah’s legs to be free from pain (Isaiah says that they hurt so much more if he leaves them in the sitting position, so I am trying to figure a way to build a platform so his legs can be elevated in the sitting position while in his wheelchair. Some wheelchairs have the foot rest able to move to another position, but his does not do that.)

7. Grace for the kids and babies at home. Elizabeth kept having meltdowns only wanting mommy and so Emma has been calling me and I will sing with Bethie (Elizabeth) the song that she and I always sing together – “Oh How I Love Jesus”…..and then I pray with her and she settles. Yesterday I did it on speaker phone for her and Elijah to hear…they enjoyed that! But we still won’t be home for a few days, so please pray for my sweet babies. Our teenagers have been affected….having Daddy sick and so far away has been stressful for them as well.

In the meantime I leave you with a verse sweet bloggy friends, Janet & Kevin posted in a comment the other day:

The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed and restore him from his bed of illness. Psalm 41:3

Thank you so much sweet bloggy friends for all your love and concern and mountainous prayers….(please don’t stop!)….Who’d have thought that this blog (which I started for fun) would one day unite people in prayer for the health and miraculous healing of my sweet hubby? Who’d have thought? Yippee Jesus!! PS Happy 4th of July!! xo

    Xo

  2. Thanking God for answered prayer. Our family has seen many medical miracles over the years … praising the Lord for this one, too.

  3. Linney,

As another Mom with a Son with AMC, if you find heavy Duty Carboard, you can stack it under the seat sticking out in front and add a layer of pillows to elevate the feet. It might look a little goofy, but it is a cheap and successful fix!

  4. We will SHOUT for joy when you are victorious and will LIFT up our banners in the NAME of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests. Psalm 20:5

Amen! Jesus!! Praise you Father! For all you are doing!! Thank you for listening to your children!!! We are lifting up banners to our GOD for Dw's healing!

  5. That is the most wonderful news ever!!! Thank you Jesus for hearing our prayers!

I will continue to pray for all those things listed. God bless you guys!!

  6. Praise the Lord! Thanks for the specific requests. I like knowing how to make my prayers more specific. I'll continue to keep your sweet family in my prayers.

  7. Such great news!! We will continue to pray for all your specific requests and for all of you also. I hope the trip home will be filled with unexpected blessings and some fun. Can't wait to have you guys back in Durango. Love you.

  8. I check back so often through the recent days that I think the computer just automatically goes to your twitter account! Yes, prayers and thoughts are constant!!! It seems that there are a lot of bloggy people in your same stressful condition. Know that there are others out there that are suffering for unknown (to us) reasons. There is another bloggy dad who is very ill and has not been seen by a certified DOCTOR. Pray for them – the economy has wrecked havoc on them and I am afraid they are without insurance. I pray for all to receive God's grace of healing.

Issaih – go to the hosiptal with Issaih in tow and find a Social Worker (yes, there should be one on the 4th). Ask him/her to contact OT (even if just by phone) for directions on how to construct something to give Issaih relief. In the car, while traveling, just start 'building' up the area in front of his seat with suitcases, boxes, whatever and top it off with a pillow. That should help the traveling.
    God speed and safe home.

  9. What wonderful news! God is truly a God who answers prayers!!

This is one of my favorite Max Lucado quotes, from The Great House of God…

"The power of prayer does not depend on the one who makes the prayer, but on the one who hears the prayer. When you speak, Jesus hears. And when Jesus hears, thunder falls. And when thunder falls, the world is changed. All because someone prayed."

Be safe as you travel home!

    Hugs,
    Sharla

  10. Oh Linny! My heart is just so full of the wonders of God!
I have been praying and praying and knowing that God is at work and He has so much more for ya'll than what the enemy ever wants to see come to fruition. These attacks have been so hard on your family and yet through it all, FAITHFUL GOD has sustained you and I know that I know that He will restore EVERYTHING that the enemy has stolen from you.
    He is a REDEEMING GOD!!
Continuing to pray and counting it an honor to be able to stand with you like this.
We may never meet on earth, but oh the stories we will share in Heaven!!
    love,
    Holly- purpose driven family

  11. Yippee Jesus!

That is such AWESOME news that DW's numbers are improving and that he might even be RELEASED. HOORAY!

Praying for recovery, praying for a safe journey home, praying for Isaiah to be free from pain, and praying that Elizabeth and Elijah will not slide backwards in the bonding department. Praying for Emma and Graham and Liberty also. This week has been a trial, for sure.

  12. Oh, Linny, good news! I'm still praying! 🙂 I promise I won't stop. I was sitting on the beach last night, watching the sun light on the water, then the sunset, then the moonlight shining on the water, then the fireworks, and throughout all those hours, I thanked God for allowing me to be there, and I prayed for your precious Dw and Isaiah…and all of you! What a privilege to be able to pray! MUCH, MUCH LOVE!!!
Blessings…Nancy in CT (PS…if you talk to Tyler, tell him thanks from me & Shao! I love this country, with all it's foibles and ills.!!!!!!!!!!)

  13. We are praying here in OH! So happy he is getting better … we will continue to pray for him, for you, and for your prayer requests!

  14. I don't know if my texts have been getting to you but we are praying for you guys. I can't imagine the stress that this week has been for you. Been praying for God to sustain you as well as heal Dw and Isaiah. So thankful you may be on your way home from this "adventure". We will probably just miss seeing you. Bummer! Love you friend and I'm praying for safe travels! See ya in a few weeks!

  15. We are praising God for your 4th of July miracles! We will continue to lift you all in prayer as you soon get to head home! How we love you even though we have never met you personally, and how we love the God we serve!

    In Christ,
Janet, Kevin, Ted, Philip, and waiting for Eli

  16. I know a bit about WHEELCHAIRS!! I'm looking at Isaiah's picture of him in the wheelchair… He is sitting on a foam and that foam is Velcro'd to the chair.. Just get some wood (plywood would be good) and stick it between the two and have it so that it extends out and supports his legs.. same with in the car.. put the wood under his seat and it should help support.. If you have a VERY thin pillow it wouldn't be so hard!!

Praying for safe travels and continued improvements for healing for your family

  17. Rejoicing with you, and praying dear one. Know that the Lord is holding you close to His heart! I am so glad that the internet finally worked for me to stop by and visit again. It is an honor to pray with your precious family.

    Hugs from Costa Rica,
    Sarah Dawn

  18. Linny & Family,
We are praying for your family and especially Dw. We know what little Isaiah is going through as our daughter has the same condition.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. JOSHUA 1:9

Our prayers are with you in healing.
