Sunday Snapshot: {The Daddy Man}

Happy Father’s Day to the man who is my soul mate and best friend.

The man who has shared the journey with me for the last {almost!} 32 years.

The man whose heart beat resembles Jesus’ heart beat more than any other man I have ever had opportunity to meet or know.

The man who modeled for me what a father was supposed to look like, contrasting completely the father I grew up with….

The man who is called Dad by two teens here where we live: Nessa and Katie {they mean it too! They hang out of cars as we’re walking down Main Street screaming, “Daddy! Daddy!” and give him Father’s Day cards and gifts, and cry on his shoulder and ask him for advice).

The man who is called Dad by young men in Africa: Lutaya, Junior, George, Kenny and Tony. {Lutaya is getting married and has requested that Dad come from America for the wedding. Culturally this is a need, as in Uganda a father is needed at a wedding.}

The man who is called Dad by a young woman named Maureen in Africa.

The man who was dad to two foster kids we once had: Elane and Scotty

The man who is Daddy to: Abigail {and Ryan}. Tyler {and Sarah}, Autumn, Emma, Graham, Liberty, Jubilee, Isaiah, Elizabeth and Elijah…..

Happy Father’s Day Whitey

My gracious heavenly Father loved me so much to send you to father our treasures; share my dreams of being a Mom of Many and share my passion for the orphans around the world….I so don’t deserve you….but am so thankful that God was merciful to me….I love you with all my heart and may this Father’s Day be your best ever cause Whitey, you’re leaving a Legacy far bigger than you could have dreamed….and I’m so thrilled I get to be part of it…

XO

By the way Whitey….Remember you said when the babies both potty-trained we could look some more….well yeah, that’s big boy pants on Elijah Mueller….I’m just sayin…..

  1. HAHAHAHAHA.. I love that last oh by the way! Cracks me up…

    Many blessings to you Dwight.. Thank you for being a shining example of what a husband and father are to be. May this day and many more to come be filled with blessings.. (and more children!)

  2. What a beautiful tribute to your dear husband. He has been an inspiration to my own husband as we have followed your blog over many months.

    Now, I've heard of many motivators for potty-training kids, but you win the prize. Way to go, Elijah, with the big boy underpants! (I'm thinking Dw has more diapers in his future. After all, a deal's a deal.)

    Much Love,
    Kathie

  3. Dw is a fantastic example of a man living for Christ! A man who has his priorities in order… we NEED men like this to show the world what God expects out of husbands and fathers!! Thank you for sharing him on your blog, Linny 🙂
    And I just love that you guys are working towards more… can't wait to see what He does!!
