Tomorrow

Lately I had been thinking about doing a series of posts about moving toward simplicity. Then a couple of days ago Su left this comment:

LOVE IT. . can you do a Memorial Box Monday and then another day of the week do a Organizing for Large Family Post?? Even have others link up their organizing ideas like you do with the Memorial Box post. . make them linkys. . and I loved the picture linky. . made me want to click more 🙂 Just my 2 cents. . .

Well sweet Su……I love, love, love the idea…..so starting tomorrow {Saturday} we will begin Striving For Simplicity. Please, please, please join in the fun. Many of you have wonderful ideas about how you are striving to live simply, or organize, or how to have a large family and still live simply, meals for large families, etc.

Many of you have been downsizing, giving stuff up, chuckin’ junk all in order to live more simply, so come on{!} share your ideas….and in turn you will have the opportunity to meet new friends as they click on your post……..

Tomorrow I will give you “the skinny” on how to link and who can link…..so get thinkin’ about what you, too, can post…… I can’t wait!!!

  1. I LOVE this idea! Since we started the auction blog to raise funds for our adoption, I have cleaned out like crazy… feels so good to purge and simplify!!! Can't wait to read all the great ideas sure to pour in. Thanks for inspiring us to be better and do better.
    Blessings!

  2. Oh I am so excited! I have the greatest urge to hire a dumpster and throw out 75% of the contents of our home. I can't stand the chaos that so much stuff creates and this home is very short on storage. Rather than building the storage, I would love to just get rid of it. I tried having garage sales in the past but honestly, it's days of effort for $100 max. We don't have big ticket items. Just lots of little junky stuff.

I would also love to hear ideas on teaching children to live with less, be content with what they have, and not get a case of the "I wants" and the "gimmies" when we go out to the store. We have already tried the Berenstein Bears books that address this – to no avail.

  3. I'm so excited to read everyone's tips! 🙂

Can I ask that you be praying? My mom and I are going to a fundraiser for Renee Bach tomorrow night. This is the first big step in getting me to Uganda for any amount of time. My parents have made huge strides toward being okay with it, but this is a big part. I am so excited! But I would love prayer for the hearts of my parents. I know they have my best interests at heart and are simply concerned about me because they love me, but it can get frustrating when I just want to be over there. Anyway. Sorry to clog up your comments section.
Praying for you and your sweet family and so excited to read the simplicity tips! 🙂

  4. I have read your blog for some time now and LOVE it!! (this is the first time I've posted) Just wanted to say thank you for all you do to encourage families who are adopting or are considering adopting! I will be back and anxious to hear what everyone has to share on Striving for Simplicity! God Bless
