  1. Thank you for sharing, Linny, it makes me see from His perspective, especially the verse where Yeshua says that the kingdom of heaven belongs to little children. We have a duty to them, once He's presented us their needs, we need to give of ourselves.

    Jas 4:17
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

    Mat 19:14
But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

    Mat 25:34-40
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Shannon did a beautiful post on doing it in reality, she helped me to understand what it means… she and her family are leaving today to help orphans in Baja, Mexico. Her post is:

  2. Love it! Will be sharing it on my blog soon!

We just adopted a little girl out of foster care that has Spina Bifida. My (unbleieving) family continually tells me that they do not understand why we adopted her.

I think this video said it all. 🙂

  3. I hadn't seen this…THANK YOU for sharing. I am waiting for an Embassy date to go get my little girl. Today I felt pain and hurt in my heart that I can't get to her soon enough. But really I feel that pain and hurt in my heart for ALL of THEM!!!!

I still have family members questioning our decision to adopt over seas. I wish they checked their email.

    Thank you again,
    kendra
ma-ME (that's how she says it) to one beautiful little girl in Ethiopia

  4. Oh Linny!!!! For a couple of weeks my husband and I have been going back and forth about adopting from Ethiopia…and then I begin to feel God moving..it ALL started with this video last week!!! And then your post about "nets", and NOW YOU'RE POSTING IT!! The writing is on the wall!!! PLEASE, PLEASE pray for my husband..he really wants to "feel" it first(needs to drop that NET)…God's calling and I'm so stinkin' excited about going, but I have to have his support!! Can't move forward without him…PLEASE PRAY!! We have to decide about updating our current homestudy for internatial adoption within the next two weeks..this is it..do we say YES, LORD…or don't we???!! LOVE you Linny!

  5. Oh Linny I don't even know what to say…I wept through the entire thing because my three are adopted from Liberia…and there are so many more and now the Liberian doors are closed.

My spirit is broken for all the orphans. So much more to do.

  6. Last Friday we watched this video clip as our family devotions. CARE's showing it at our table during ministry Sunday next month.

We are sooooo going to Kenya and carry orphaned children who are stranded along the road to families who will embrace them forever.

May God express His special mercies and tender grace to orphans everywhere. May we be found faithful to share our lives with them.

Big hug to you, Linny – friend of the fatherless, mom of many and lover of Jesus.

  7. We go to Eric's church and this is truly his heart and the heart of the people there. I love how quickly this video has spread and how many views it has in such a short time. God is on the move – love it!

Your family is beautiful! God bless!

  8. Linny – saw this video last week with my husband and oldest son, and we just sat there in silence – without words. Even though we are on our third adoption (and probably our last since Kevin is nearing that magic 55 that is set by China), THERE IS SO MUCH WORK left to do for the precious little ones around the world. Our work is only beginning with our last adoption.

    Love you friend,
    Janet and gang
