Tears of Relief!

Dw had left me to sleep in this morning.  He was going to get the little guys breakfast.  {I am not much of a sleeper-in type gal.  There’s way too much to do in my humble opinion.}
Anyway, Dw’s cell was charging in our room and it started ringing.
It was early.
I dove out of bed.
Caller ID said it was Sarah, our precious daughter-in-love.
I answered, “Honey?! Is everything okay?”
And on the other end of the line I heard a most treasured voice,
“Mom!  I’m home!”
Our newly promoted Sergeant is stateside!
Safe.
American soil.
Sobs of relief unleashed by this mama.
Poor Ty.
Seems all I do when I talk to him is cry.
I ran the phone to daddy so he, too, could hear his voice.
He’s safe.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your prayers while he was deployed.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Please remember our troops and please God, continue to bless America.

  1. Praising God with you!

As a mom who still waits with her daughter for her precious husband who is daily in harms way, I understand.

May his homecoming have many precious memories for all of you.

  4. What a wonderful phone call! Is he home for a good long while now? I can't imagine how you feel, the relief I felt reading this, and I've never even met you guys! Welcome home Tyler, thank you!

  5. WHOO HOO WELCOME HOME TY!! I will never forget the feeling of seeing my guy walk off the plane when he returned from Iraq-the relief he was safe, thankful to God for bringing him home alive.

  6. I cried reading this! I'm so glad he is home safe! And congratulations to him on his promotion! My brother leaves March 6 for his first deployment. We are so very proud of him, but so very nervous and scared!

  7. I knew it! I just had that feeling reading the title alone. Sending praise up on behalf of his safe return and a relatively low-key deployement for him. My husband is in Savannah at this very moment (we recently moved to San Diego) attending the memorial of the seven men that battalion lost on their most recent deployment. It was a hard one for us as we said goodbye to several close friends. Through their sacrifices and the safe return of so many other dear friends, we praise the sovereign, merciful God.

Welcome home, Ty! Soak up that precious time!

  8. NOW,I'm a blubbering mess!!! Praise God, and thank you so much Tyler for your bravery and willingness to serve our country! I pray God's protection and great blessings over you today:)! WOO-HOO!!!

  9. oh my word….crying tears with you and apparently many other readers, too. Praising Him with you. Thanking Him. Praying peace and protection on the many, many others and their families.

  10. What a blessing! So happy for you!
You have made me more aware than ever of how blessed we are to have young men and women wiling to serve our country. Just today in the post office I prayed for a woman mailing energy drinks to her son in Afganistan…

  11. AWESOME! I know the feeling of hearing those words as a wife, but as a MOMMY, well I'm not sure how my heart would hold up!
    Always, always, God is faithful.
Thankful for your son and his precious wife and his Mama and Daddy and many siblings 🙂

  12. So, you know this post brought this Navy mom to tears, right?

And, today one of our church sons was home from Afghanistan….more tears.

And, he brought his friend Adam with him. Adam was seriously injured while serving, and is now a walking miracle…..

Praise the LORD for those who serve. God bless you, Tyler! And, blessings to you, too, Linny!
