I just talked to Autumn.
Karl has been very restless, very.
BUT when she is with him, he is peaceful.
The nurse even told Bob and Vicki last night:
“When she is in here, he is sooo peaceful.”
Sure enough, he was restless and it was Autumn’s turn to go in.
In walked Autumn, 
who started rubbing his hand and whispering to him….
Karl then settled down and instantly fell asleep.
And then I got to thinking…
I want to go out on a limb and just be perfectly honest.
We have heard that around now, 
people tend to go back to their lives and forget.
Truthfully, that is a scary thought to us. 
We know that the prayers of God’s people accomplish much!

“…The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man {or woman} accomplishes much.”
James 5:16

I am thankful for you who have been reminding 
us that you are still praying.
Your Facebook posts on my wall, your comments 
and your emails all mean so much.
This is a long road.
We would still do it with all our might, 
but it sure feels good to know that we are not alone.
And so here I am being very vulnerable.
There are many needs that Karl has.
Would you be willing to fast and pray for Karl this Thursday?
We have been fasting and praying many days since the accident, but I thought maybe some of you would be 
willing to join us in a group fast for Karl.  
The kind of fast that would move mountains!
Whatcha think?  
Would you join us?
All of us who know Karl and love him 
would be grateful forever!
P.S.  A couple of days ago, I went on the Prayer Vigil Spreadsheet and saw that it was not extended.  I had no idea what to do, except ask on the blog for help, which I hadn’t done yet.  

We desperately just need to know that Karl is not forgotten!

And then, just this second I went on to see if anyone had yet extended it.  I saw that not only had someone extended it, but many had signed up.  I am sitting here on Ty and Sarah’s bed bawling my eyes out.  

Thank you so much to whoever did the extension, put the specific requests on and all who have signed up for times.  
You guys are the best!!!

  1. I for sure will be fasting! I have not signed up for a specific time lately to pray, but I want you all to know that I pray a lot on and off throughout the day; no lie. Karl and Autumn and everyone involved are very heavy on my heart and I would love nothing more than to fast with you on Thursday. I am still praying.

  2. I don't say much but I come here several times a day to see if there are any updates and have been in prayer off and on every day since the day of the accident. I will definitely join with you in fasting on Thursday!

  3. We won't stop praying, Linny! We won't forget! And we won't stop asking other people to pray. We love you in our long-distance, bloggy way, and we love Karl, too. And more importantly, GOD SEES YOU. GOD LOVES KARL. GOD WON'T FORGET. Karl's name is written on HIS hand!

    We will fast and pray on Thursday.

  6. You bet I'm there!!!!!! Please know that the Lord is bringing Karl & Autumn to my mind over and over again durign the day. I have not signed up for a specific time but have been praying…I will go and sign up now!

  9. Oh Karl has NOT been forgotten! I am continuing in prayer for Karl, his family, your family, the doctors, etc. I check the blog at least twice a day to see if there are any updates or if there is any news on his condition. 🙂 We love you and your family, and we love Karl and his family. Please let them know we are still praying and thinking of him and sending lots of possitive energy to you all. 🙂

  10. He and his loved ones are not forgotten! Like many others, his name comes to my mind throughout the day. There are also many of my biker friends who are praying that may not be reading your blog.

  12. Oh he is so not forgotten…praying throughout the day and the specific times signed up for! If anything, prayers are increasing! So happy that you are with Tyler and Sarah…what a special time…praying for that as well! Praying!!! <3

  16. Still praying for Karl, Ruby Grace and Sarah Jane. As well as for Emma – saw your twitter update about her leg being infected. How is she doing? You are definitely not alone Linny.   19. Oh Linny you have not been forgotten at all. I pray everynight before bed and each morning for God to heal Karl and protect each of you as you journey this long road with him. I look daily numerous times to see the specific prayer requests. Praying for you each day my friend.

  21. We continue to pray in Texas. Karl crosses our minds many times daily, and prayers are lifted up on his behalf even when it is not our "assigned" time to pray. I cannot count the times I've woken up during the night with Karl on my heart and go to prayer on his behalf. Linny, Karl and the rest of the family are never far from our hearts and minds, and certainly are not forgotten in our prayer time.

    For those bloggy friends using the Prayer Vigil. It has been extended out through Sunday, September 5. I will continue to post Prayer Focus items on the vigil as I receive them.

  22. I saw a link to your blog in a friends Facebook the day of the accident and have been praying/checking in everyday since! It's hard to pick a specific time to pray with a two year old and 4 month old but I pray throughout out the day for all of you and have become so invested in what's going on with Karl, with your adoptions, with emmy's heart for Africa.   27. I have not forgotten to pray for Karl, Autumn, both families, doctors, nurses, everyone involved in his care. I pray several times throughout the day and will continue to do so. I would absolutely love to fast and pray with you all on Thursday.

  28. Don't worry we haven't forgotten, our family is still here and willing to do whatever it takes to get Karl back on his feet. We will fast and pray on Thursday, I will recruit more of my family and friends too.

    My husband had a question, does Karl have health insurance? Are they in need of any financial help as well?

  29. I have been reading all this about Karl. You have asked us to fast many times. I have never fasted before and when I don't eat it is not very good. Anyways I have decided to try this time. Even if it is fasting a snack. I know that God can work miricals even with the smallest things.I will ask God to help me. Praying for you and Karal.

  33. I'm on holidays and have made plans for every day except for Thursday. I was just sitting here thinking – what should I do on Thursday? Now I know! Glad to be joining you in prayer and fasting for Karl. He continues to be in my daily prayers and thoughts (many times a day). I have definately not forgotten. 🙂

  38. We are still praying too. Every day my kids(esp my teen boy) asks, Hey mom, how's Karl? I love you and want you to know– even when I am quiet, I am praying for you all.

  39. We are praying all through the day and also at night when we have our family devotions. My kids ask about Karl and Ruby and Sarah. Your like a part of our family. I will be fasting Thursday with all of you. I am also awakened as others to pray. You have a mighty army of prayer warriors behind you Linny! The prayers of the righteous avail much. L

    We are all praying…I am updating my family as I read updates…my littler ones want to write Karl a letter, which we will do soon…
