Thankful Thursday – Oldest Brother Meets Baby Brother and Baby Sister

Thankful Thursday!! Today my heart is filled with Thankfulness as I write: Our oldest son is home on leave for four days. Yesterday he arrived home during nap time. He was pretty funny. He could not wait for the babies to get up. He kept walking by their door. Finally he walked by it enough, I’m sure he woke them up!!
I had been showing Elizabeth and Elijah his picture and so when Elizabeth saw him she ran to him and threw herself into his arms. Elijah is not loving cameras and shrieks (like it hurts him) when he sees a camera out. So only pictures of Elizabeth and big brother – our hero.
PS The downside of his visit is that very soon a yellow ribbon will hang on the post at the end of our lane….=(*
PS Do you see Elizabeth petting Nelly? Progress!!

  1. i’m so glad Tyler is home for a visit! enjoy your time with him. and he and you and the family whne be in my prayers once he deploys… right alongside my hubby. wouldn’t it be neat if they ended up going to the same place?

  2. Oh Linny, I was praying last night that your thankful Thursday post was going to be Ty, so thankful to see that it is!! I can just picture Elizabeth running into big brother’s arms, so special . . . especially when you consider what her little life held just a few months ago — really, just a few weeks ago . . . God is soooo good!

Please tell Tyler that we are proud of him, and that we are praying for him. Thank you Ty, for serving your country. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

    Enjoy your boy Linn!

    Hugs~

  3. Yeah Ty’s home! We sure miss him while he’s gone. Not even close to how you guys do, but know that we think he’s an amazingly special person and we love him. So glad he’s here and so glad he gets to meet the newest members of the Saunder’s clan! The pictures are beautiful!

  4. Congratulations on having him home and those beautiful smiles! My son just returned from his leave and will also deploy before the end of the month. Our prayers will go with them all. I love the yellow ribbon you have on your blog. Since I am new to blogging I haven’t figured out how to get something like that on mine. Any suggestions?

  5. I will pray for a safe and ‘uneventful’ deployment. I know how hard deployments are for everyone!!! But we know that HE has the whole world in his control!

Thank you Ty for your sacrifice–my husband’s ANG unit just deployed 70 airmen over this week {Selfishly, I am thankful he was not one of them this time}. Good is coming from our presence~~~ Stay safe!

  6. What incredible pictures! THANK you for sharing them! And, thank you Ty for serving our country! Without brave men like you, we would not have the freedoms that we do!
    Enjoy the time with family!

  7. Tyler will be so very prayed for! He couldn’t be in more capable hands! Please tell him how grateful I am for his service to our country. I’m thanking God with you for the time you have together before he heads out! Blessings!

  8. What stunning pictures of beautiful first meetings! I loved how Tyler could not wait to meet his meet siblings—he must have SUCH a sweet heart. Make the most of every day that you have him home. I know it is going to be so hard to say goodbye, but KNOW that you are sooooo prayed for!
Thank you so much for sharing your amazing family with us.

  9. So glad Tyler is safely home with family. And wow does it look like Elizabeth knows who her big brother is! Though she’s gotta be thinking there’s an awful lot of that clicking sound coming from that thing mom’s holding up to her eye so often 🙂 I’m loving all the pictures – bring them on!

Will try to update in just a few minutes… just wanted to catch up with you first and say WELCOME HOME TYLER!

  10. I am so thrilled for you!!! What could be better than having your biggest boy home, and him meeting his miracle brother and sister? Have a wonderful few days together!!

  11. I have tears in my eyes as I see how the love you have shown your kiddos have taught them to love each other so much… You have such a fun family – thanks for letting us have a glimpse or two!
