Just One Year Ago….

Emma, Graham and I were in Africa to pick up our prized treasures…..

Meeting Elijah Mueller….
We missed taking the picture of me meeting Elizabeth….
but here I am showing her the picture of her and daddy
playing together a few months before….. Emmy and Elijah and Elizabeth at their orphanage….

And one Year Later….
Family Forever and Ever and Ever….

Emma mentioned the other day that since last year we were in Africa picking up Elijah and Elizabeth for most of the month of December and since this year we will be in China picking up Jubilee for a few weeks…… maybe we should make a tradition of the month of the December being, “Bring home another little one month.” I’m just sayin…..

  1. Sounds like a great tradition to us! In the last 8 years….we have had 8 children….hmmmm….sensing a pattern? Last year we flew the day after Christmas to go get Jonathan…and prayerfully will be getting Naomi in January of next year 🙂 More babies…what is more precious than that???

  2. Linny, I love you and your family! Is there anyway that you can connect me with a little orphan that I can pray for personally? I've been listening to your sermon over and over and it's my heart too! I'm 19 and wanting to help now! I can be a prayer warrior to help an orphan:)

  3. Hi Linn, This is Lynsay's Mom. 🙂 Soooo excited that you'll be heading their way soon to pick up your sweet-smiling daughter, Jubilee!

I sent my Christmas packages (2) to you (to the church) on Friday & they should arrive by Tuesday. Thank you SO MUCH for spanning the miles between us and our Kids/Grandgirls in China!!! Be sure that you give extra hugs and kisses from us to them! Wish I could have fit in one of the boxes so I could sneak a ride to see them.

Thanks again, SO much! Keep warm & safe while on your journey.

    With love,
    Dauna Johnston

  4. Oh Linny! What wonderful pictures of your little treasures! Our church is hoping to go to Sanyu this summer and I plan on sending my husband. In hopes that will have the honor of adding another little one to our family. He's already told me to beware that if I send him he may fall in love with the entire orphanage and we'll just have to move there. Thank you so much for sharing! I may be emailing in the coming months with lots of questions! 🙂

  5. I remember your journey in Africa like it was yesterday, Linny. I can hardly wait to follow while you're in China 🙂 I have such a heart of expectation for you–cannot wait to see how the Father brings things together for you in China.

    Love you!

  6. Sounds like a plan! In seven years God has brought eight kids into our home–2 through birth and 6 through adoption. At this rate we are going to have to hire out an entire airplane if we ever wanted to go visit family back in the states! Or…..just stay here and use that money to care for more precious souls (that sounds better).

  7. Happy "One Year" as a daughter and a son, Elizabeth and Elijah!!

Oh what a joy it has been to see them journey home, and then see them blossom and grow . . . and paint the carpet with finger nail polish . . . and give facials . . . and empty the refrigerator of it's contents . . . and wasn't there a Cheerio mosaic on the kitchen floor one time? And don't forget the huge smiles . . . yep, for sure, the smiles!! Countin' it all pure JOY!!

The new tradition sounds good to me! Countin' down to Jubilee!!

    Love you~

    Tina

  8. I like that idea!! You've already started the tradition! I'm looking forward to next December!

Congratulations on having your treasures home for one year!

  9. Just so excited about you going to get Jubilee. I can't explain it and I was even a bit hesitant to send the stocking but I knew – beyond the shadow of a doubt – that God said to do it and I just knew it 🙂 and here you are. WOW – that is so very cool. YIPEE!!!! Celebrating with you and all your sweet babies from young to old.

  10. I think the December plan is a great idea!! 🙂 Happy Gotcha Day!!

Today, Alexis chose an orphan to sponsor (using her blog design fundraising money) and little Navya's birthday is Dec 19 (and Benjamin's is the 20th, mine the 23rd and Hudson, the 25th). She's so precious. Can't wait to share more details as soon as I get permission.

  11. Dear Linny,

I love Emma's idea, too!!! I can't think of a better gift each year under the Christmas tree.

What precious first pics with E and E. I bet it's hard to even remember life without them.

    Still rejoicing over Jubilee's homecoming!

    Blessings,
    Kathie (still in Guatemala)

  12. I was remembering, this morning, an evening just about a year ago. All of us piling into the cars, trying to drive through the snow through the airport to greet you, only to find out the plane had been delayed.

Has it really been a year? Wow! They are such a blessed addition – what joy, laughter, and love they bring. We are so excited to get to meet Jubilee. Friday! It's really here!

And, tell Em I love her idea!

  13. AHH! Isn't Emma just a sweetheart! I think she has a great idea for a new Tradition. Maybe next time you can go to Russia and bring home a sweet little one. LOL!!

Cannot wait to hear how your trip goes this time. Will you have your laptop with you, so you can update us on how things are going?

    Good luck!

    Love,
    Sheila
