Why We Do What We Do…

Many of you have written and asked me questions about our life.  I suppose to most having a boatload of treasures {at our age!} is a rather wild idea.

Of course in the midst of it all, we have the privilege {which we thank the Lord for all the time} of home schooling those same treasures as well.  We have only ever home schooled all of our kids.  Over the years it has just become a way of life.

Bran muffins with Bible.  The kids actually love them.
{Of course, they do have a few chocolate chips in each.}

My mission in life with my kids is this:  Raise mighty men and women for Jesus Christ: which are earnest prayer warriors known as servant-hearted, orphan loving, God-honoring, mission focused, faith-filled, selfless world changers.

This morning I took a video,  that way, every one would be able to get a sneak peek into our morning routine….

How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.
I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you.  Ps. 119:9-11

Here’s the ones we have been working on:

“Walk with the wise and become wise;
  associate with fools and get in trouble.”
Proverbs 13: 20

“The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart.
The evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.
For out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks.”
Luke 6:45

Anyone can memorize.  Personally speaking, He often brings to mind one of the hundreds of scriptures I have memorized over my life time.  It’s never too late to begin.  Hide His word in your heart….it’s soooo good for your soul.

  1. SO SO CUTE!! Love it! I could just eat Elijah up with his little stutter. Cutest thing ever! And Nehemiah's smile after he was done was just too adorable!
    Thanks for sharing.

  2. THAT was adorable!!! From your sweet accent, to your kiddos all speaking God's Word BOLDLY (love Elizabeth's confidence and her song at the end!!!!!) to the bigs walking around the kitchen in the background…I loved every minute! What a sweet peak! Thank you Linny! I enjoyed every minute of it!

  3. Thanks so much for sharing the video! I am super excited to learn two new verses today from all of you! I loved to see the teamwork as everyone worked to remember the verses. I love to hear your voices, some are different than I would have imagined, but all are beautiful! Isaiah-way to go first, you are very bold! Elizabeth-I can tell you have wonderful leadership ability! Elijah-very impressed with your memorization, such a smart boy! Nehemiah-you are very observant and smart(look out world when you become confident in english!). Jubilee-your beauty just radiates from inside and out! Ruby-you are such a natural cheerleader! You go girl! Thanks again for sharing! Becky

  4. Wow!!!! I don't know what I'm more blessed by, hearing the ALL kids recite Scripture, or just hearing their unique voices and getting a glimpse of their personalities.

    Elizabeth is HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love her! And so impressed with Nehemiah's English – already. He looks so settled. Is he doing OK?

    But of course Jubilee touched my heart the most because she reminds me of my Mia and I'm challenged to have Mia memorize Scripture and ask God for her own healing.

    Thank you for sharing.

    Next video: "Breakfast around the Table" So WHAT exactly do the Sauders eat?

  7. Scripture memorization is so valuable…a fact I take for granted as I was raised in a Christian home and memorized verses for Sunday School and Wednesday night studies…not too mention the verses that "stick" from years of hearing them over and over again. Now when talking to those who have just come to Christ or were raised in a church that did not put value on memorization, I can see the treasure my parents and church imparted to me when I was young.
    Keep up the God work.
