Could She Really Be 8? {Yup, 2 days in a row}

Our girl who has never ending joy and
unimaginable enthusiasm for life
is celebrating her 8th birthday today….
Daddy’s going to be in Africa
on Elizabeth’s actual birthday
and was more than willing to celebrate her
8th birthday
today.
If you haven’t read Elizabeth’s story,
you are missing out on a Last Minute Rescue
by Almighty God.
{Oh how He loves the orphan!}
It’s the kind of story you won’t want to put down.
{Your family will love it as well.}
 It all begins here…
Elizabeth wanted Eggs, Bacon and Hash Browns.
But mommy invented something new…
Hash Blacks.
haha.
Here’s the Recipe:
Hash Browns.
Forget them for about an hour.
Crispy.
Crunchy.
Black.
Now officially called Hash Blacks.
Mmmmmm.
She smiled anyway.
That’s my girl.

Quick Trip Down Memory Lane….
Two year old Elizabeth when Daddy found her…
July 2008

A few days before the house burned down…
Elizabeth and Elijah had been home less than 4 weeks….
but our girl has always loved dresses.
She would dig through the pile at the orphanage
until she found a dress to put on
after her ‘bath’.
Oh Elizabeth Mercy,
you are such a delight to all who know you.
Your spunk for life is unmatched.
Your optimism unbeatable.
And one day we pray that your dreams
are realized and you join your big sister
in Africa caring for treasures.

Now we praise the Lord at home.

Together.

As family.

Forever.

If you’d like to wish our precious girl
a happy birthday,
she’d definitely love, love, love it.

  7. Happy birthday to the birthday girl. I stayed up late reading the whole story about how your dad found you and how God worked so many things to fall into place at just the right time for you to go home with your Mom and Dad.
    Come to think of it, sort of like all the little details that fell into place at the right time for His Son!
    God bless you.

  8. Truly, she is contagious. My first glimpse of her was watching her walk with her siblings at the mall… except, Elizabeth doesn't just WALK. She sashayed, she danced, she twirled, she skipped, she found an inner beat and convinced her Isaiah and Elijah to stomp to it too.

    And I almost did too. And I couldn't wipe that silly smile off my face because she just MAKES MY HEART HAPPY.

    What a gift she is. And I am so thankful that God swept her into your family because she has always, always belonged there.

  9. Happy birthday, Elizabeth! What a special treat to get to celebrate your birthday early! I pray that as you grow and mature this next year, your heart will draw closer and closer to His. Eight is great!
