UPDATE: March 3, 2023 Noon
Dear Friends,
It appears Dw had a Cryptogenic Stroke which (in my completely non-medical expertise) I believe, is a fancy word for a TIA. (He has had 2 TIAs in the past but not for many, many years.) While pulling out of the hospital the neurologist called him to say that there is some concern with one number that is quite elevated. He warned him that should he have any of this, this or that to come right back.
He is also wearing a heart monitor “for at least a month”. He just wants to sleep and sleep. So he is on the couch with the most loving nurse he’s ever known.
She’s definitely also the bossiest nurse he’s ever had. Ha!
When Dw had the first TIA, Graham was a newborn, Emma was 18 months old and Dw had just turned 40 and we were pastoring in NC. Anyway, I remember him sleeping for many, many weeks. I can remember looking over our back yard and wondering if he would ever stop wanting to sleep all day. It was a long road.
And here we are again. Only this time he’s about to turn 68 in a couple of weeks and let’s be honest, we just don’t bounce back like we used to.
So thank you for praying with us for complete healing, strength and wisdom.
I can see the Lord’s hand in the entire TIA – He is truly miraculous, loving and astoundingly faithful. I’m going to try to do a post to explain what happened. Only God. xoxo
Thank you for the update. Will keep praying. Looking forward to hearing the story – your stories over the last decade (over a decade!) have encouraged me to look for God’s hand in difficult times. His goodness is so evident. And we have our memorial box to remind us. Thank you Linny. You are a light.
Aww Tara thank you for your most kind words. I love that you have a Memorial Box. I wouldn’t want to do life without ours! xo
Praying for Dw, for complete heeling. Praying for all of you. I have been reading your blog for about as long as Tara.
God bless all of you.
AWww Erika, I love hearing that you’ve been stopping by for a long time. Makes my heart smile. Thank you for praying for us. We surely need it. xoxo
