Hey Sweet Bloggy Friends…3 Things I Must Tell You…..

First….
The other day I got an email from Rand, Josh’s dad.

Those of you who were around A Place Called Simplicity last September will remember praying for the searchers and rescuers as they searched for Josh who was lost in the Weminuche Wilderness not too far from our home.

You guys prayed and prayed for this incredible young man, who knew Christ {had been home schooled}, whom we had never met. Dw and I had responded to the news that he was from Ohio, had been hiking with his dad and gotten lost. Dw and I went just to minister to the family as they waited, knowing they really didn’t have any support system here in Colorado {and we became wonderful friends for life that day and were able to visit a few weeks later on our family vacation.} I know many of you even fasted as they searched for Josh. Infact just typing this is making me cry. You guys were unbelievable, stepping up to the plate for this young man and his family whom you had never met.

Anyway, Rand wrote to me {to send the picture of Shelley and I that horribly painful day} and here is a speck of what he said:

I have just recently been reading things about Josh on the Internet and found your website………….I wanted to ask you to thank all those who have prayed for us, particularly on your Website. God is at work. When they had intense prayer for me at the retreat people said that they could see warriors or angels around me.

Sweet friends, I firmly believe that a bunch of those warriors pictured that day around Rand were you – sisters and brothers in the Lord from literally, all over the world! We can never underestimate the power of prayer!! If Rand, Shelley and their family come to mind, please continue to pray for their weary and grieving hearts.

And on behalf of Rand: Thank you so very, very, very much!!

Secondly…
The kids and I sat on the porch this morning and sipped coffee and wrote names, put them in a beautiful basket given to me by a very special friend, who happens to live in Africa with her husband and children {thank you Summer}….
And so{!} we have a Memorial Box winner from our giveaway the other day….

And while Elijah had the privilege of drawing the name, we all looked on with baited breath…

And the winner is:
Yippee Jesus!! And I can’t wait to read some more of Michaela’s Memorial Box Monday posts!!

Lastly…..

Recently one of you made a comment….and we are so totally gonna’ do it!! I mean come on…..why should kids have all the fun this summer?
Seriously!!!
I will unveil something tomorrow that is really, really stinkin’ fun!!! I’m not even kidding, I am so excited to tell you….

What exactly might it be?

  1. I love seeing pictures of all your kids but in particular Jubilee in your posts. She seems so full of joy, and I know what a long and pray filled struggle it was to bring her home.

  2. You seriously have an illness called "hanging" not to be mixed up or confused with a hangover, but seriously do you always need to leave us hanging!!!

Love the photo of Jubilee at the end!!!

  7. I have a guess… and I thin k I'm right. In fact I'm so confident that I am not going to say it because I don't want to ruin the surprise.

I'll just let you know that we're available…

(okay- I really don't know but I gotta feeling- that's all- maybe it's just something I want you to do- we'll see! )

Love the front porch pics, love your kiddos!!

PS- We really need prayers right now- the opposition is after us big time. We need protection that only the Lord can give. I will forward you an email that I sent to Lori.

  8. Oh! I forgot to thank you for praying for my parents' hearts about me going to Uganda next year. They are still a bit nervous, but my mom actually told someone tonight that I'm going to Uganda next year! 😀 I'm so stinkin excited! My parents gave the go-ahead for me to go! Yayyyyyy God! 😀

  9. I didn't know about Josh, but sounds sad. We are praying a little boy in Oregon will be found soon. Missing since Friday at school, don't know where he went. It's all we can do.

Um…are we going to Disneyland, with your surprise? Yes, adults can have fun too. We are going to Crater Lake in August and I can't wait! I've not been there for years…..like when I was a child!!

Love the photos of your children. So cute! I just saw the sonogram of my second grandbaby….can't wait til Jan!! Hugs and prayers.

  10. What a perfect name for your beautiful girl, Jubilee! I love the joy I see in her face in her pictures. My son has that similar smile. (Maybe not beautiful by the world's standards, but so amazingly beautiful to those of us who know the blessings of our amazing gifts! )
Thank you so much for sharing your heart.

  11. sweet Jubilee at the end got me laughing 🙂 humm what's the surprise?? guess will have to wait till tomorrow 🙂

I'm sorry to hear about Josh, it's very hard, some things just don't make sense. Sometimes we are left with only just trusting Him Pro 3:6, Job 1:21. May the parents be comforted and strong in trusting in our Saviour.
