I often wonder how moms ever survived when their children
went off to serve in foreign countries in years past.
Before there was internet, cell phones Skype and Face time.
Having read dozens of missionary biographies over the years,
I always stood amazed at the courage of missionary’s moms.
How grateful I am that I live in 2013, as opposed to 1813.
At the moment, over in Africa, International Voice of the Orphan’s
Legacy Leadership Conference is in full swing.
Emma was able to speak to the pastors gathered about
the ministry God has called her to.
I guess she spoke through an interpreter
for about 20 minutes.
Personally, so very thankful for pictures through the internet
to be able to get a glimpse into it all.
Graham has had several opportunities to lead worship.
Grateful for all of you for your generous donations – the
construction of the dorm for House of Praise
is in full swing.
Although the June 2013 GO team had several days without power,
no doubt, they have had an authentic taste of life in Uganda
as they’ve served wholeheartedly.
Crazy how much joy a picture can exude.
June 2013 GO Team
Although most of the GO Team is heading home
our family contingency is staying on for awhile.
God has done amazing things through the team and
we are blessed to have them serve the country and people we love so very much.
The opportunities that people have these days are endless, and tons and tons of children and adults do not take full advantage of them. Your children have surely embraced them. P.s. I spy a Green Bay Packer hat. Is he a fan? (I may or may not be from wisconsin and reside there)
Graham has been a Green Bay fan since he was little toddler. We have no idea why he picked them, but tend to think it's because his "fravorite" colors were green and "lellow" ….before long he was so taken by them that they became our family team and we all loved GB. Ruby even had a GB cheerleading outfit I found at a thrift store last year. {She's since outgrown it.} Go GB!
Thanks for sharing photos of your group in Africa. Our daughter is a camp counselor/cabin mom this week for a Bible camp on the coast. I've text her a few times and emailed, since she has her laptop with her. No snail mail letters that I used to send when they were in camp. I remember when I was in Nicaragua, I didn't have a cell phone and I had to find someone with minutes so I could call my pastor friend 30 hour away to let him know I was ready for a ride to Leon. Phone tag for sure and no internet. But I lived through it. And had an amazing time. Have a good weekend!
Dw and some of our older kids have taken many mission trips to Nicaragua…we love the people there!
oops, should have been 30 miles away to Leon, not 30 hours……HA! Yes the people in Nicaragua are special too. I enjoyed my time and wound up sponsoring a young man who helped me on our house visits. He interpreted for me and we talked while walking. He's going to college and needs help. We are half sponsoring him, due to cost, am hoping and praying someone will come forward with the other half to help him out.
Great to hear about Emma and to see her…And, Graham has on a GREAT hat, as well…My favorite football team….
Love from NC
He loves GB…I wrote about it two comments up! ^^ xo
You have such a beautiful family!
I am indeed blessed beyond what I deserve, I assure you.
I can see the blessings all around you as you share bits and pieces of your life every day. Boy, God is so very good……. But one of the greatest of those joys and blessings besides salvation, is to see your grown children serving God in what ever He calls them to. Now that is a blessing for now and eternity! God be with you and your whole family as they grow and continue in service to Him. Since He called them where they are…He will use them for His glory and keep them safe. Praise be to our faithful God!
Love, love, love these pictures! Wonderful!
