This guy right here is celebrating his 7th…
where in the world has the time gone?
I know as parents we say that a ton
but really, this time, I really mean it.
For you who’ve been hanging around our
Place Called Simplicity for a while
you will remember him as the guy who
together with Elizabeth
invited everyone for a facial…

Or perhaps a facial wasn’t your thing…
how about a manicure??

{where we lived after the fire}


Yeah, for sure,
the childless, 
single-his-entire-life landlord loved us.
No doubt he counted down the days
till we moved out.

He’s the guy who I found in the sink 
being “Mommy’s big helper”…
And the guy who was learning how to be a 
make-up artist with great skill….
Besides who would expect a guy with
all these big sisters {6 of them} not to
try out all their cool gunky-funky junk?
Gotta give that little curious guy a wee break.
And actually that same little guy
has grown into a master Lego-buildin’
music-playin’, tender-hearted Ruby-lovin’, 
prayer warrior….
who can’t believe he used to do all that stuff.

He’s our resident prayer warrior
and we speak over him that he will be a mighty 
man of prayer, just like Elijah the prophet was…
and whenever we hear a siren 
or hear of a need, 
it’s Elijah who pipes up,
 “Mom, don’t you think we should pray??”
We are so grateful for his tender heart 
and powerful prayers…
And yup, 

he’s 7 today.

and no doubt
Mr. Elijah Mueller would love 
a shout-out for his special day!

  9. Mr Elijah~ Happy Happy Happiest Day to you Buddy! I have a little treasure who turned 7 a couple of weeks ago! It was a great day around here and I'm sure that you will have a great day too! What great plans God has for a boy with a strong, Godly name like Elijah. Blessings for a super year!

  21. Happy birthday, Elijah! You are growing up into such a handsome young man. May you grow to love Jesus even more this year. I love that you keep your mommy on her toes with all the fun stuff that you find to do. Seven is such a Biblical number, so I pray this is your best year yet. (And maybe even this means a year of rest for your momma from all your funny stuff. Ha!)

  29. He sounds like such a joy! Happy Birthday! My six and three year old sons do the same thing when they hear a siren. They will come running to me across a playground if they hear a siren so that we can stop and pray immediately. I love that they have learned how important prayer is for others so young!

  32. Mr. Elijah! I can't believe I missed seeing it was your birthday. But then again, maybe I missed your sweet mama's special announcement because I am trying to keep up with Treasure #6 who is doing EVERYTHING your mother posted of you when you were just a little guy. Baby powder poured over, inside, into, and under everything in 3 rooms before I knew what he was doing. Lotion (expensive stuff for our very dry skin) pumped out and applied to skin, clothes, windows, floors, and more. Pencil art that I keep finding on my walls. Ooooh, my 4 yo little boy is so full of curiosity . . . so I am very thankful to read that at 7 years old, you have outgrown stuff like that and find it funny that you *used* to get into mischief! One day, he will be 7, Lord willing, and we, too shall giggle and remember.
    Elijah, you are such a sweet boy and I always enjoy reading about you and your family. I hope your birthday was TERRIFIC! God bless you!
