The Rest of the Story {Kirill AND Evan AND even Baby J}

First, I am thrilled that so many of you have said that you will pray {and fast} for Kirill’s situation.
But there is more to the story…..
{and I now have permission to share it}
As I said yesterday,
the adoption of Down Syndrome children has been unheard of in this region of Russia.
Kirill was the first case.
Now, let me introduce you to –
Evan
{her name at the moment}
Isn’t she absolutely perfect??
Evan is in the process of being adopted from this exact same region of Russia
and her mom and dad {Angie and Clark} are in Russia at this very moment
waiting to have Evan’s case heard before the exact same Judge who
stamped Kirill’s case as
Evan’s case is going to be heard THIS Thursday
March 31, 2011
{as in the day after we fast and pray}
The case will be heard in Russia at 2:00am {central time} Thursday morning
 in the United States
So when we are allegedly sleeping, this same judge who only two weeks ago DENIED Kirill a family because he has Down Syndrome will be deciding the future of little Evan
{and there is another little Down Syndrome treasure – Baby J –
whose adoption papers are waiting
in Russia to be heard by the exact same Judge –
if she is even willing to!}
The situation is serious.

The call is urgent.

The need is huge.
But
our comfort remains in Christ ALONE because:
1.  God’s heart is for the orphan
2.  He desires to set the lonely in families.
3.  He can move any mountain in the universe in a blink of an eye.
That is why, in our home, we refer to Him as
our

Miracle-working, Mountain-moving,
Awe-inspiring, Gasp-giving God.
BUT
We MUST pray!
We MUST fast!
We MUST stand in the gap.
Can you imagine if you were Evan or Kirill?
What would you want the body of Christ to do for you?
Pray for sure!!
And skip a meal.  Or two.  Or all three.  All the while, joining with other believers
asking Almighty God to move on your behalf.
It is so timely to get these words just this morning from my bloggy friend, Debbie.
Here is a portion of what she said.
“Thank you for introducing me to fasting. I never thought I would love fasting, food is my crutch, but find God gives me the strength and energy I need each time I do it.”
Sadly, many, many, many Christ-followers today have never fasted,
let alone even thought about fasting.
Here is one of the best resources, that I have found, on fasting:

If you haven’t already committed to,
would you consider joining us tomorrow
as we go before God’s throne of
 grace asking Him to set Kirill and Evan free?

Please spread the word.

  1. A group of high school students will be praying and fasting tomorrow! We are spending our lunch hour in an empty room praying for these precious babies and expecting God to move!! He is so so good!

  2. I have never posted a comment here before, but I want you to know that I am reading your blog. I will be praying and fasting with you on Wednesday and Thursday both!

  3. Spreading the word and absolutely will be praying and fasting with you all tomorrow. I can't wait to see God move on behalf of these precious children. This situation is just unbelievably heartbreaking.

  4. I have never fasted before, but I will be tomorrow! I've been in a court room in Eastern Europe and heard the word "Yes" … I can't immagine what I would have done if it had been "No."

  5. Linny, I pray throughout each day. (You are actually the one who really "taught" me how during a telephone conversation way back in 2007!:)It's like breathing for me now. Certainly as important.) But I have never before fasted. It has always intimidated me for some reason, despite your frequent encouragment here on your blog.

    Consider yourself my burning bush. 🙂

    Joining you in prayer AND fasting on behalf of these precious babies and the families who wait to shower their love on them…always and forever.

    With Love and Gratitude…

  6. I will also be joining in on praying and fasting for these sweet children. Just this past Sunday evening, during prayer meeting, I stood up and shared this urgent request. So, as I pray our church family will also be praying.

  7. I will be praying and fasting tomorrow for these 2 treasures as well as any to follow after them. Our Lord is a Mighty God and he is so much bigger than this situation. I am believing for these children to be set free!

  8. I will pray and fast for these special children. God blessed us with special needs children through adoption and has blessed us so abundantly through them. Perhaps Kirill and Evan would be better off in an institution (although I don't believe that) but the rest of us have can be so blessed by them! This is breaking my heart.

  9. Linny,

    This will be my first time fasting, I even got the man of the house to fast as well 🙂 We will be praying and fasting for these precious children. (Also my first time posting 🙂 )

  10. 1st post, lurking for months. You are an amazing spirit lead, spirit filled woman of God!!!
    Im in for fasting and prayer as the mother of a special needs child I cannot imagine…..I just cannot imagine I am so glad no one denied me the chance to birth and know my precious gift, may God grant these families the same gift. In prayer and Fasting. Beth

  11. I haven't fasted in 11 years, and when I read your post on Monday I felt God encouraging me to try again, so I will be praying and fasting with you all tomorrow. Excited to see God blink and the mountains to vaporize!

  12. Fasting and Praying for the judge's heart to be turned "inexplicably" today! May she be moved to be an advocate of the SN orphan, that her position as judge will be used as a tool,not an obstacle in God's plan for these beautiful children to get home to their families. May God, by His Spirit Reveal Himself to her, May the love of the Lord Jesus Christ flood her heart and she be changed forever more,..

  13. Seriously couldn't wait for this day to begin! started with going to church this morning with Sophia and Peter is on board for the rest of the day.

    You know I've been thinking about what kind of life this judge has had.
    i wonder if anyone has ever said a prayer for her? i guess today is her day too. Maybe she really needed this day of prayer for reasons other than just the obvious. I have a feeling that this goes so much deeper than any of us realize.

  14. Oh Linny, I am so excited to see what God is going to do! Praying and fasting with you today for these sweet little ones, their forever families, and those whose lives will be changed in the future because of what change God is going to bring in this judge! Praying believing!!

  15. Praying and fasting here today. My scheduled Bible reading today included Luke 18: 1-8, which is the parable of the persistent widow, and is told to the disciples to show them that they should always pray and not give up. I immediately thought of this situation, as it reads, "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men . . . " The widow didn't accept his refusal to act, and kept coming. The judge finally gives in to her request so that she'll stop coming before him. Verses 6-7 read, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?"

    Continuing to lift up both these families, and praying for this judge tonight so that the morning may bring a different response.

  16. Praying, fasting and believing for God to show Himself mighty on behalf of these precious ones. God is good and he is in control..only believe and do not doubt.We praise you God!!

  17. Thanks for the link to the 'How to Fast' articles. I'm new to fasting and needed that! Joining you all today and have had the opportunity to witness to a work colleague as well. God is good. All the time.
